+0.5 The story was quite complicated. A lot of bitches. The Zhou father is gross. Subtitle is off.
+0.5 Good-looking guys. The SML Kenji Chen overshadowed the ML Liu Xu Wei in looks.
+0.5 Although Republican era dramas have gorgeous costumes, the filming quality especially the lighting, is very bad.
Happy ending (ML and FL alive and together) with lots of death.

I watched it because Douban gave a high rating of 8.1. It appeared from the comments that the older generation, who were fans of the directors/screenwriters' previous works rated it high.
Wanted to like it >= 8.0 but...
+1.0 for the story. The story is unique, but it has many loose ends. The extra scene after the ending credits in the final episode suggests that the story will continue.
+0.5 for the characters with backgrounds. Liked their camaraderie. NO ROMANCE if you're looking for one. Acting is so so.
+0.0 for the visuals and CGI are bad for a fantasy drama.
