Payback Delivers Everything I Love: Dark, Intense, Emotional, and Absolutely Addictive
I previously wrote a review for the uncut version of Payback on the cut version MDL page. However, since the iQIYI release is the uncut version and this uncut MDL page was only recently released, strangely, weeks after the Payback series ended, I will be using my original review here. My original review was written specifically for the uncut version, so it already reflects the full uncut release. As always, the uncut version is better than the cut version. It has a longer running time, includes the NC scenes, and gives you more of the story and character development. If you have the option, I definitely recommend watching the uncut version because you do not want to miss important parts of the story by watching the cut version.
However, please note that the uncut version contains mature content and NC scenes. If you are under 18, I recommend that you do not watch the uncut version.
Below is my original review.
This is probably one of the longest reviews I have ever written, but some stories leave such a powerful impression that they deserve more than just a few simple words. Payback is one of those rare series that stayed with me long after the final episode, not only because of its intense storyline, unforgettable chemistry, and incredible performances, but also because of the emotions, pain, healing, and deeper messages hidden beneath the surface.
I do not usually write reviews this detailed, but this drama impacted me in a way that very few BL series have.
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read my thoughts. This review is divided into the following sections:
1. Introduction about loving revenge/mafia stories
2. Min as Sun
3. Story structure and timelines
4. Sun's backstory and revenge journey
5. Toptap as Jay
6. NC scenes and chemistry
7. Episode 8 love scene and emotional climax
8. Episode count discussion (12 episodes vs 10 episodes)
9. Entertainment industry commentary
10. Adaptation paragraph (novel/manhwa comparison)
11. Overall acting, story, music
12. Final verdict
What a fantastic series. This is exactly my kind of drama. I love stories centered around violence, revenge, and the mafia world because they create such an intense and thrilling atmosphere, and Payback delivered that from the very first minute.
This is my first time watching Min as Sun, and I am genuinely impressed. His performance is incredible. From his facial expressions to the changes in his hairstyle and hair color, he makes every version of Sun feel distinct and believable. I especially love how the series uses Sun's changing hair color to clearly show which timeline we are in. The constant transitions between the past and present are handled so well. The flashbacks never feel confusing or unnecessary. Instead, they gradually answer questions while introducing new mysteries, allowing the audience to piece everything together naturally. It is such a smart storytelling choice and one of my favorite aspects of the episode.
Sun's story immediately pulled me in. After years of carrying guilt over the deaths of his mother and younger brother, he continues to blame himself for a tragedy that was never truly his fault. The real betrayal came from someone he once trusted, and that pain fuels the revenge at the heart of the story. The title Payback feels fitting because every emotion, every wound, and every act of betrayal is building toward something powerful.
It is also my first time watching Toptap, and he made a strong impression as Jay. He was only 21 when he filmed this series. He once said that if he didn't get the role in Payback, he would have worked an ordinary job instead, but if he did get the role, he would give it everything he had. He definitely lived up to that promise. For someone so young, he delivered an incredible performance and showed remarkable talent. This was his first leading role, and I truly hope he gets many more lead roles in future series because he absolutely deserves them.
It's so hard to find a series that delivers both a strong, engaging plot and genuinely great NC scenes, but this series absolutely delivers on both, making it one of the most complete BLs I've ever watched. The kissing scene at the end of Episode 3 was intense and unforgettable. If you watch closely, you can even see the saliva dripping, which made it feel even more real, and I'm so glad it was an actual kiss rather than a fake one. The chemistry between them was intense, thrilling, and completely captivating. The riding scenes at the beginning of Episodes 4 and 6 were just as incredible and easily some of the hottest scenes I've seen.
And after watching more than 500+ BL series, I can honestly say Episode 8 delivered the most beautiful, intimate, and realistic love scene I have ever seen in the genre, and I am still SPEECHLESS. It never felt like I was watching two actors, it felt like I was witnessing two souls who truly belonged to each other. When Jay stand there holding the umbrella and Sun ran into his arms, holding him so tightly and begging him to cry, to finally let go of every wound, every grief, and every silent burden he had been carrying, my heart completely broke. It was heartbreaking and breathtaking at the same time. Every touch carried years of longing, every glance spoke louder than words, and every embrace burned with a quiet passion that felt impossibly real. The chemistry was undeniable, the emotions were overwhelming, and the cinematography captured every fragile heartbeat with such tenderness that the line between fiction and reality simply disappeared. It was not just a hot love scene, it was love finding its way through pain, sorrow, and healing, leaving behind a moment so raw, vulnerable, and unforgettable that it will stay with me for a very long time.
I also saw many people saying the series should have had 12 episodes instead of 10, but I think it is worth looking at the actual runtime rather than just the episode count. The later episodes were much longer than a typical drama, with Episode 7 around 75 minutes, Episode 8 at 87 minutes, Episode 9 at 68 minutes, and Episode 10 at 72 minutes. A standard series episode is usually around 50 minutes, so 12 episodes would be roughly 600 minutes in total. After adding up Payback’s actual runtime, the series already exceeds the length of many typical 12 episode dramas. For me, the issue is not about having more episodes, but how the story chose to use its time. I think the emotional journey and character development matter more than simply adding extra episodes.
One thing I want to mention is that I haven't read the novel or the manhwa, so I went into this series with no expectations and judged it purely as a drama rather than as an adaptation. I have seen many comments saying that the revenge was not as satisfying as it was in the original story, or that the drama did not fully capture the impact and depth of the novel or manhwa.
I understand why some people felt that revenge was not enough, but I personally see it in a different way. Sometimes revenge is not always about an eye for an eye or making someone pay in the same way. Sometimes the greatest revenge is simply finding peace and taking back control of your own life. For Sun, his true revenge was being able to heal, let go of the guilt and pain he had carried for so long, and finally allow himself to be happy. Seeing him stop living for revenge and start living for himself made his redemption arc even more meaningful and emotional.
I can see why people are comparing this series to the original novel and manhwa, and why some people may feel disappointed or unsatisfied. When you already have a strong emotional connection to a story, it is only natural to hope that the adaptation can capture the same feelings, impact, and satisfaction that made the original so meaningful. Howeve, I also believe that an adaptation should be judged based on what it achieves as its own medium. A novel or manhwa has more space to explore a character's thoughts, motivations, and inner struggles, while a drama has to rely on acting, cinematography, pacing, music, and visual storytelling to create the same impact. Changes are sometimes necessary, and the fact that something is different from the original does not automatically mean it is worse. Since I experienced Payback for the first time through the drama, I was able to appreciate the story, the characters, and the emotions without constantly comparing it to another version. For me, the revenge journey, the character development, and the emotional payoff were still powerful and engaging. In fact, this series has made me want to read the novel and manhwa afterwards because I am genuinely curious to see how they tell the story differently.
I also love how this series explores the dark truth behind the entertainment industry. It shows how older, more powerful people take advantage of young artists, manipulating and grooming them, not only through words but through sexual abuse, while convincing them that if they refuse, their dreams will never come true.
Imagine being a young actor with an entire life full of hope ahead of you, only to have it stolen by people you were taught to trust. It is heartbreaking to watch, yet it feels painfully real. I cannot help but believe that stories like this have happened in real life. This drama does not simply tell us about that reality. It makes us feel it, carrying us through the fear, the silence, and the pain that so many young people may have endured behind the spotlight.
Overall the acting is excellent, the story is engaging, the dark and intense tone is exactly what I was looking for, and the fight scenes were well executed. I also loved the music, which elevated many of the emotional and action-packed moments.
Payback has everything I want in a drama: compelling characters, emotional depth, revenge, chemistry, action, and a dark atmosphere that keeps you invested. It’s so rare to find a series that delivers a strong plot, excellent acting, and some of the best NC scenes all at the same time. This series has absolutely nailed every single box for me.
Payback has officially reached an incredible 8.9 on MDL, making it the highest rated BL ever! 🔥
For me, PAYBACK is shaping up to be the best Thai BL of 2026. ❤️

The definition of a modern masterpiece
"Payback (Uncut)," which I have had the privilege of viewing in full, I pronounce a masterpiece of the highest order. It is a work of surpassing genius, and a jewel in the crown of modern storytelling. Not a single moment passed that did not contribute to the whole with purpose or delight. My eyes were fixed upon the screen, so thoroughly was I entranced by itThe narrative, in its unflinching and refreshing candour, made no pretence to conceal the carnal expressions of love shared among men, whether the soft press of lips or the deeper covenant of the flesh, nor did it withhold from them the grace of a joyful ending. Indeed, the erotic reveries in the 8th and 9th episodes were framed with such exquisite artistry and delicate sensibility as to command admiration. The gentlemen (ToptapMinlee) who assumed these vulnerable roles are to be lauded for their courage. They consummated their bond, undaunted by the regime of thought that stigmatizes the public espousal of non-straight/non-procreative desire
I will revisit "Payback" time and again to honor its brilliance anew

Revenge, Grief, Corruption, and Chemistry That Earns Its Place
Payback was my first Thai drama of any genre, and it was a very strong introduction. What impressed me most is that this is not a romance carrying a weak plot. The story would still work without the romance. At its core, Payback is about grief, revenge, corruption, exploitation, guilt, and the way power can distort an entertainment industry from the inside.
Sun enters Dream Entertainment specifically to get revenge on Bank/Sunny, the ex-boyfriend who stole the money Sun had saved for his mother’s cancer treatment and disappeared after Sun’s brother was killed. What Sunny does not realize at first is that Sun also overheard him admitting that he had encouraged the man who killed Sun’s brother. That makes Sun’s revenge much deeper than simple betrayal or theft.
I really liked Sun as a character. He is physically strong, blunt, observant, emotionally closed off, and almost completely uninterested in celebrity status or hierarchy. He doesn’t even recognize the most important people in the industry. Minlee Thanakorn also completely transformed for the role. I had already seen him off-screen being sweet, playful, and extremely huggable, so I genuinely did not recognize him immediately as this tough former debt collector.
Jay is equally interesting. At first he seems like the polished, powerful, slightly frightening man who controls every room he enters. Then we discover that “Director Arthur” is actually the son of Dream Entertainment’s founder, whose company was taken from her through manipulation and corruption before her death. Jay has quietly returned to dismantle the people who destroyed her company and helped destroy her.
That is why one of my favorite moments comes at the end. For most of the drama, the title Payback seems obviously connected to Sun’s revenge. But when Jay walks into the board meeting, reveals that he legally controls 61% of Dream Entertainment, destroys the corrupt takeover plan, and is asked what exactly he thinks he is doing, his answer is:
“It’s payback.”
That line reframes the whole title. This was never only Sun’s revenge. It was Jay’s too.
The relationship between Sun and Jay worked for me because it developed slowly inside the larger story. Sun is attracted to Jay much earlier than he wants to admit, but he spends a long time pushing him away because he has convinced himself that happiness is something he no longer deserves. Jay recognizes that before Sun does and repeatedly confronts him with the fact that he is still alive and allowed to want a life.
One of the most emotional moments for me was when Sun nearly dies and dreams of his dead brother and mother. His brother tells him to stop living for them and simply live his own life. That scene absolutely destroyed me.
The supporting characters were also unusually strong. Kajorn became one of my favorites because he genuinely cares about the actors he manages and repeatedly tries to protect them from an industry where young performers are treated like commodities. Sky’s camera trauma was painful but handled with real care, and I loved Pakin’s role in helping him begin reclaiming something that had once terrified him. Sia Jo was one of the best surprises of the show: intimidating appearance, huge heart, and some desperately needed comic relief.
The entertainment-industry corruption plot got extremely dark. SP, Kongkiat, and the people around them are not just shady businessmen. They exploit young actors, use sexual access as currency, manipulate casting and scripts, destroy careers, and eventually reveal themselves to be capable of far worse. The series is very clear about what happens when money and influence are allowed to operate without accountability.
The uncut intimate scenes were far more explicit than I had seen in a drama before. The chemistry was excellent, and the intimacy had emotional meaning. I generally watch C-dramas, and most of the BLs I’ve watched have been Chinese or Chinese-adjacent, so this being my first Thai drama made that difference especially noticeable.
Still, Minlee and Toptap are excellent together. Their off-screen chemistry is playful and adorable, while Sun and Jay feel completely different onscreen. I especially loved the little callback to their first meeting when Jay tells Sun that he is Sun’s now, and Sun is confused until Jay reminds him:
“You bought me for two baht, remember?”
That ridiculous half-smoked cigarette transaction somehow became one of the sweetest running jokes in the entire drama.
Overall, Payback gave me exactly what I want from a BL: a strong story that does not depend on the romance to survive, layered characters, meaningful supporting roles, real thematic substance, and chemistry that feels earned rather than inserted.
A very good drama, and a very intense first introduction to Thai television.

Trigger Warnings
First I want to clarify that I think this was very well done - production, acting, score, pacing of the story. All very well done. But I wish I had some kind of warning before hand, so wanted to write one for others. This is very triggering. There are many instances of sexual assault. It is also violent- people getting beaten and even murdered. Several scenes are difficult to watch (they are supposed to be hard to watch, I understand that).
I would hardly classify this as a romance. They could’ve leaned into the romance a little bit more, IMO. The romance itself has some dubious consent issues. And the CEO boyfriend is more than a little crazy. Still. I was rooting them.
bottom line: avoid if Sexual assault, guns, knives, (really, violence of any kind) and self harm are triggering for you.

Masterpiece, must watch drama
I originally reviewed on the payback page which has now been turned into the uncut version, odd, but i definitely watched uncut, 100% sure of that as if it were anymore uncut it would be a different show! That being said, they do NC scenes perfectly, the emotional depth is intense.Absolute masterpiece of a show, i've rewatched through twice now because i just keep going back and enjoying the character progression. Everything is so well acted, the story is intense, probably one of the hardest to watch BL shows i've seen so far and i've seen a lot of shows! But it's all done for a reason, nothing feels like filler scenes, or violence/nudity just to up viewership, which some shows throw these scenes in just for the fanbase, not for the plot, i'm fine with this, but for this show, everything is relevant, all of the storylines are interwoven beautifully, and despite the intensity, there are some really good humour moments.
If i could, i would ask the whole acting and production team to stay together as i would love to see more projects by them all, its rare to find a story so well rounded and that feels so complete.

Revenge & Chemistry Done So Well This review may contain spoilers
I went into Payback with high expectations for the revenge plot, and it absolutely delivered, plus so much more. The dark, cutthroat entertainment-industry setting is vivid and immersive. Every power play, hidden deal and tense standoff feels grounded and real. Sun’s journey of pain, anger and quiet determination is portrayed so grippingly; you can feel every weight he carries as he plans his payback.
What makes this series shine even brighter is the dynamic between Sun and Arthur. Their bond doesn’t feel rushed or forced. Beneath Arthur’s bold, intense obsession lies genuine care and understanding for Sun. Their push-and-pull chemistry is electric, the way they slowly become each other’s safe haven amid all the chaos of revenge is beautiful to watch.
The acting carries every scene perfectly. The leads bring layered, nuanced emotion, turning complicated characters into people you care deeply about. The soundtrack also fits the mood perfectly, amplifying the suspense and soft, tender moments between them.
It balances thrilling revenge stakes and tender romance wonderfully. This is a rewatchable gem for anyone who loves sharp, atmospheric drama with unforgettable on-screen chemistry.

My Best BL for 2026 ✨
Okay, wait... I'm screaming, gosh. Payback is so amazing! Everything about it is perfection — the characters, actors, acting, plot, storyline, direction, cinematography, etc. I had been on hiatus from watching BL series for like 7 months, and when I got back, I struggled to finish other series. But this one, I was glued from start to finish. I binge-watched it for 3 days, haha!I'd say I have good taste, not to brag, but I've watched almost 300 BL series, so now that I'm back, I've become super selective. I can't believe the main actors are newbies; their acting is so good, you feel drawn to their characters. Min in particular is so good, whether his role is a top or bottom — from edgy-looking to soft once he fell for Toptop.
The NC scenes are amazing too; you wouldn't expect that from new actors. The chemistry is top-tier, and the height difference is so cute. I hope there's a season two, or a new series for them, I'd love to see more fresh faces like them.
The story is also easy to follow. I feel like 10 episodes were too short, hahaha! If you're hesitating to watch, don't — watch it right away! Highly recommended!

The most must-watch BL drama this summer
Everyone, go watch Payback. Watch the whole thing and you will finally understand what people mean by "shockingly delicious."Shocking, because every beat is built with care — nothing here is thrown in carelessly; it is all thought through. Delicious, because the kissing and the steamier scenes are genuinely sweet enough to eat, hahaha.
I have only read the webtoon once, so I will not pretend I remember every detail and cannot promise a scene-by-scene comparison. But the series clearly diverges from the source in places, and every change is well justified — personally, I think the adaptation made it better.
Strongly recommended. You have to watch this one.

Beautiful but heavy
Few stars for the rewatch because it was difficult for me to see certain such atrocious scenes. Very often I had to close my eyes watching those scenes of abuse. I felt sick at the thought that that could be someone's reality. This series shows us the sad reality that often lies behind the world of entertainment. It was like a punch in the stomach. The actors performed so well that you got angry, cried and rejoiced with them. I'm glad that old man died in the end, even though I would have preferred something more tragic for him, after all the harm he did to those poor kids. Was this review helpful to you?

The drama looks promising, but there’s nothing substantial beneath the surface.
The story is supposed to be about revenge and love, but honestly, I could barely see either of them throughout the series.Let’s talk about love first. All I see is teasing and pursuing, and even though there are intimate scenes, the relationship comes across more like a friends-with-benefits (FWB) situation than genuine love. There are no emotions reflected in their eyes, no emotional depth that makes me believe they’re actually in love. The chemistry is there, but the love? I just don’t see it.
Now, coming to the revenge plot. The revenge storyline barely even begins until the very end. Throughout the series, the MLs are either busy teasing each other or solving problems for the people around them. And honestly, some of those problems feel so baseless and poorly written that they’re difficult to take seriously.
For instance, one of the ML’s friends supposedly suffers panic attacks just by looking at a camera. How did he even make it this far in the acting industry? Before getting into acting, people often work in modelling, advertisements, or similar fields, all of which require them to face cameras. So how does his situation even make sense?
Then there’s the issue of an email being sent from your manager’s account. And the solution? Somehow, becoming XYZ’s manager is supposed to clear your own manager’s name from the accusations. How does that even work? It feels like a baseless solution to a problem that was poorly established in the first place.
And what kind of manager has only two clients, both of whom are troublemakers, yet somehow manages to keep his business running? The whole setup feels unconvincing.
One ML Sun comes to for revenge, yet he barely makes any actual moves to get it. The revenge only starts happening in the final episode, and even then, he probably wouldn’t have been able to pull it off without Jay’s help. Jay, too, waits until the very end to take his revenge. So, throughout the entire series, the main couple accomplishes almost nothing in the name of either love or revenge.
The only things I genuinely enjoyed were the main couple’s teasing, their pursuit of each other, and their intimate scenes. Their dynamic was entertaining, but I honestly see it more as an FWB relationship than love. And I’m fine with that interpretation because I simply cannot call it love when I never saw that emotion in their eyes.
As for the revenge plot, it barely exists until the very end.
That’s exactly why I said this drama is all looks and no substance. It may look like a mountain from the outside, with its attractive leads, chemistry, and intimate scenes, but underneath all that, the story feels hollow. It has the appearance of a compelling revenge-and-love story, but the actual substance needed to make either storyline convincing is largely missing.

Series That Deserves Every Bit of Praise
Payback is genuinely one of the best series I have ever watched. As someone who has been watching Thai BL for six years, I can confidently say that this series left a lasting impression on me in a way very few others have.I actually stumbled upon this series completely by accident. I was scrolling through Twitter when I came across a post of someone getting excited about the special episodes. I had nothing to do at the time, so I decided to give it a try just to kill my boredom. Little did I know that I was about to get completely obsessed with a series I knew absolutely nothing about. I went in without knowing anything about the plot, the actors, or the manhwa it was adapted from, and honestly, I think that made the experience even better.
I was hooked from the very first episode.
One of the things I loved most was Sun’s character. The raw emotions, the expressions, everything felt so convincing. There was something so compelling about his character that made me want to understand him more with every episode. He really brought Sun to life, and I genuinely couldn’t imagine the character being portrayed any better.
And then there’s Jay. His character is so unique and fascinating in his own way.at furst his deep voice and appearnce made me so impressed. I loved how he was written, how he carried himself, and how he fit into the overall story. The dynamic between Jay and Sun is easily one of my favourite aspects of this series. They are not the typical couple where one person is always helpless and the other has to come to their rescue. They feel more like “I will protect you, but I can protect myself or more like I can protect you too” kind of lovers, also the height and size difference of these two characters made me so impressed. becaus teh dofference is so huge. and I absolutely LOVE that. They can stand on their own, but they still choose to stand beside each other to take their revenge in different ways. There’s something incredibly satisfying about that kind of relationship.
The revenge plot was another huge highlight for me. This was my first time watching a BL with a revenge driven storyline like this, and now I genuinely want more series that explore this kind of plot. The betrayal, the tension, the unfolding events, and the way the story keeps you guessing made it such an addictive watch. I can guarantee that I never found myself genuinely bored during an episode. Every episode left me curious about what would happen next, and the way the story kept building its tension made it almost impossible to stop watching. Also I loved most of all the characters . no bored characters that made me want to skip a clip bc its that important.
I’m usually not someone who watches an entire series in one sitting, especially when I’m watching it as it airs. But Payback had me so invested that I ended up watching whole episodes back to back without even realising how much time had passed. That’s how much this series pulled me in. I wasn’t just watching to see the romance unfold. I wanted to know what would happen to the characters, how the conflicts would develop, and how everything would eventually come together.
Another thing I really appreciated was that the series wasn’t entirely romance centred. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the chemistry between Jay and Sun, but I also love that their relationship doesn’t overshadow the actual plot. The story gives room for its revenge storyline, character development, tension, and individual personalities. The romance feels like an important part of the story rather than the only reason the story exists. I also appreciated that the series didn’t deliberately make the bottom character the innocent, helpless one. Sun and Jay have their own strengths, and their dynamic feels much more interesting because of it.
And can we talk about the chemistry? Jaysun chemistry is SO GOOD. Their interactions, their dynamic, and the way they complement each other made me love them even more. They have that kind of chemistry that makes you want to keep watching even when they’re not explicitly being romantic. I love the balance between their individual strengths and the way they connect with each other.
The production, cinematography, aesthetics, atmosphere, and overall presentation deserve praise too. Everything felt so well put together, and the series had a distinctive identity that made it memorable. I loved the overall theme and the way the story was presented. It wasn’t just the plot or the couple that kept me invested; it was the entire experience of watching it.
And the TITLE. PAYBACK.
I absolutely love how the title connects with the story, especially the way its significance is brought into focus between the first and last episodes. Looking back at that connection made me appreciate the storytelling even more. I love it when a title isn’t just something chosen to sound cool but actually carries meaning within the narrative. For me, the way Payback brings that idea full circle is such a satisfying touch.
Honestly, after six years of watching BL, this is the first series that made me download kisskh specifically to write a review. I usually just watch a series, enjoy it, and move on to the next one. But Payback made me want to sit down and put my appreciation into words. I wanted to leave something behind because I genuinely believe this series deserves more recognition.
From the production to the acting, the writing, the revenge plot, the characters, and the chemistry, everything came together so well for me. It managed to surprise me, keep me invested, and make me care about a story I had discovered completely by accident.
Payback went from something I started out of boredom to a series I will remember for a long time. I came in knowing absolutely nothing, and I left completely obsessed. This is exactly why I love giving unfamiliar series a chance. sometimes, you unexpectedly find something special.
A solid 10/10 from me. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this series to life. You made something that genuinely stood out to me, and I am so glad I decided to give it a chance. Also later I ended up reading the manhwa which made me wonder because the adaptation is 10/10 everything on detail. even the characters. it felt like manhwa stepped out to the teal life. one of the best adaptation ever. hope everyone give it a try.

A Dark Drama That Lives Uo to KinnPorsche
I don't normally like writing reviews, because the things that I like and enjoy don't necessarily reflect on the quality of a drama. I also don't think that just because I didn't enjoy something, that the drama should suffer because I liked it less; nor do people need to hear me rant online a lot. I liked a lot of things about this drama, overwhelmingly including Min's performance and the story itself. The production was top tier, the music and cinematography also stellar, and the satisfaction ending of the assaulters dying in the end. I only have one complaint with this series, and that the character of Jay felt lackluster. I don't necessarily blame the actor, but the character itself never got over his obsession with Sun. I never once felt that he actually truly liked him more than just a concept of a person, and the experience of that one amazing time back when he was at his lowest. Except, I didn't really feel him at his lowest because I never really saw his pain. We saw plenty of Sun's pain, and plenty of times for him to heal through the new people introduced into his life, and through him accepting his past and wrongdoings, and realizing that the revenge he wanted wasn't going to cure his own guilt and pain. However I never once saw vulnerability within Jay, nor that he was really able to be just a normal person with Sun; He always had to be this ownership and in control persona, and I wasn't a fan. I had no real reason to root for him to be with Sun other than that he provided a means to an end at one point and that Sun liked him, did he even like him back other than the fact that he was obsessed with him in a lust way? The rest of the series was absolutely magnificent and the cast and crew really outdid themselves. I definitely want to see more from this director and cinematographer. Was this review helpful to you?
