Lose the water snake
I think the overall low rating for this drama is due to the fact that it absolutely did not need the supernatural / fantasy element. The main storyline had plenty of conflict on its own without it. You could take every supernatural scene out of this drama and it would still be a whole instact story that deserves at least an 8 overall. I love Scifi / fantasty /supernatural stories. love love love. But this did not work. If you can look past that, the rest of the drama is well done and enjoyable. Was this review helpful to you?

not a BL
first WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT ENDING?! I knew there were only 8 episodes and still I kept hitting next because SURELY THAT IS NOT THE END.and yet- it fits. an ending as gray and ambiguous as the heart of the story. (but that didn’t stop me from knocking my rating down half a point from a solid 8 to 7.5 because I’m petty and HOW IS THAT THE END?!)
this is not a BL. if you are here expecting smoches and high jinx or angst and fists fights, please move on.
this is a complex story that should make you question how you feel about end of life care. The story does a good job of showing both sides of the argument it presents, without ever leaning too heavily in favor of one or the other. I found myself agreeing with almost everyone at one time or another.
recommended for: people who love suspense and plot twists you can see a mile away, people who like melodramas that make you question ethics and humanity.
(NOT recommended for people who need closure because COME ON with that ending!!)

Art House BL
The Artsiest of Art House Films and the Sliciest of Slice Of Life Dramas had a BL baby. Every other BL I’ve watched has been a happy (for the most part) RomCom, dispensed in 10-20 minutes episodes full of seratonin. The longer episodes here intrigued me, and they were definitely needed for the deeper story. While there is a “happy ending”, I would absolutely not call this a happy drama. I appreciate what this Drama was trying to do. I just don’t know if, for me, it quite achieved. There were 2 characters that I found absolutley unlikable, and they tried to “redeem” them in the last 10 minutes which was just - Uhg. I do have to say- The OST is outstanding. Bottom Line: give this a try if you’re looking for a Korean BL that isn’t all sunshine. Was this review helpful to you?

So Much Fun
11 episodes of pure joy. I smiled for nearly every single. second. If you’re a fan of Kim Tae Hyung, Choi Woo Shik, or Park Seo Joon, there’s is no reason not to watch this. Even if you’ve never heard of the cast, if you enjoy cooking shows or behind the scenes restaurant shows you will enjoy this. There’s also an audience here for people who like reality shows in general, or who enjoy watching best friends tease each other. This could also appeal to people who like travel shows; they did a good job selling me on taking a vacation to Bacalar.

I can’t rember the last time I was this emotionally invested in a fictional relationship. haforget whatever you’ve spoilers you’ve read about cheating.( I’m not a cheating apologist. I hate cheaters. once a cheater, always a cheater.)that’s not what this is about. this is a realistic portrayal of youth and how they change and grow, and how that change effects relationships; sometimes for the worse, and sometimes for the better.
it would be a disservice to yourself, and to the story that’s being told, not to watch this second act. you would miss these characters becoming who they’re supposed to be. I would argue that without their separation, they never could’ve become those people. and it is only those people, who have changed and grew and become SEPERATELY, who will be able to now sustain a lasting healthy relationship.
(-.5 points because Teh really pissed me off)
