'If Wishes Could Kill' director shares team aimed to emphasize Korean identity in Netflix K-drama
The tvN rom-com Spring Fever is coming in 2026.
Spring Fever follows Yun Bom (Lee Joo Bin), a teacher who moves from Seoul to the rural area of Sinsu, carrying scars that run deep, and Seon Jae Gyu (Ahn Bo Hyun), a popular guy in the village with a quirky charm and big heart.
Seon Jae Gyu is the uncle of Seon Han Gyeol, a student at Sinsu High, where Seon Jae Gyu works. He is also the CEO of JK Power Energy.
Lee Joo Bin plays Yun Bom, a woman who comes from Seoul and works as a high school teacher at Sinsu High.
Cha Seo Won transforms into Choi Yi Joon, a flawless elite lawyer. Cho Jun Young plays Seon Han Gyeol, the top student at Sinsu High School and Jae Hyu's one and only nephew. Lee Jae In plays Choi Se Jin, a student at Sinsu High and Han Gyeol's rival who constantly ranks second.
Jin Kyung, Bae Jung Nam, Kim Byung Chun, Oh Man Seok, and Jung Young Ki come as teachers at Sinsu High School.
Ahn Bo Hyun commented, "You'll see characters with visuals unlike anything you've seen before," and added, "The script was really fun, and I was drawn to playing an uncle for the first time as well as to the dialect. I think it will be a drama viewers can enjoy with lots of laughter."
Lee Joo Bin emphasized "the beautiful backdrop, the refreshing village scenery, and the witty comedic beats" as key highlights, adding, "Not only Jae Gyu and Bom, but also the playful dynamics between students and teachers will be fun. And there's a hidden card. Watching that character will be fun too."
Spring Fever premieres on January 5. The K-drama will be streaming on Prime Video.
