'Between Steps' gives a glimpse of Kim So Hyun's warm chemistry with her on-screen family

Between Steps has unveiled stills featuring Kim So Hyun's family.

Between Steps tells the story of Park Min Jae (Choo Young Woo), who was a swimmer in high school but lost one of his legs due to an illness, and Im Yoo Jin (Kim So Hyun), who, after losing her way and wandering, embarks on a new path.

The drama is the latest — and final — work of the late director Ahn Pan Seok.

The stills pique curiosity about Im Yoo Jin's family, whose ordinary appearance makes them all the more eye-catching. Park Hyuk Kwon and Seo Jung Yeon play Im Yong Seok, the kind and diligent father who owns Jeil Car Center, and Seo Mi Young, the hardworking and tenacious mother who handles the accounting at Jeil Car Center, respectively. They are ordinary parents who do not have much, but consider their children their greatest pride in life. 

Im Yoo Sung (Kim Min Seok) looks every bit like an immature troublemaker. He works as a mechanic at the car center, helping his parents, and getting into hair-pulling fights with his younger sister Yoo Jin, who is just one year younger than him, is part of their everyday routine. However, despite his appearance, he is a dependable older brother who cares deeply for his younger sister and family.

Kim So Hyun heightened anticipation by sharing her thoughts on working with Park Hyuk Kwon, Seo Jung Yeon, and Kim Min Suk, saying, "Starting from the day of the script reading, we would sometimes meet separately, talk, and do a lot of research together. I think that allowed us to naturally bring out many moments that felt like a real family on set."

Between Steps will premiere on October 5. The K-drama will be streaming on Disney+ (select regions).
