Out of all K-pop releases in the first half of 2025, Billboard hailed BLACKPINK Jennie's newest solo track as the number one K-Pop song.

Billboard recently released their 'The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2025 (So Far): Critic’s Picks' list, crowning BLACKPINK's Jennie's hit song Like JENNIE as #1.

In addition to Like JENNIE, other songs on Billboard's Best K-Pop Songs of 2025 list included NMIXX's High Horse, ATEEZ's Lemon Drop, NCT Mark's solo song 1999, IU's Never Ending Story, SHINee's Poet | Artist (composed by the late Jonghyun), ITZY Yeji's solo debut track Air, and SEVENTEEN's latest release, Thunder, among others. These were listed in no particular order.

Billboard recognized BLACKPINK's Jennie's hit solo song, Like JENNIE, as the best K-Pop song of 2025 because of its undeniable impact and how it challenged expectations. More than just a chart success, this song cemented Jennie's status as a leading "It Girl."

Like JENNIE stands out with Jennie's confident rapping over a unique mix of baile funk and phonk, where she directly tackles negative attention and celebrates her identity. It's a key track on her Ruby album, notably for being the only song to include Korean lyrics alongside English.

The song's appeal led it to be Jennie's longest-charting song, even breaking into mainstream U.S. pop radio and outperforming her all-English single. This strong performance and its fresh approach to a K-Pop hit are why Billboard picked Like JENNIE.

Besides topping Billboard's list, Jennie's solo track Like JENNIE also topped Spotify's Global Impact List for the first half of 2025. This achievement on the world's largest music streaming platform confirmed Jennie's unrivaled global status.

Jennie released her solo track Like JENNIE on March 7. It is the title track of her first full-length solo album, Ruby.

Aside from Jennie's solo achievement, her group BLACKPINK recently hit new milestones with their single JUMP. The song claimed the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts.

This marks BLACKPINK's third time topping the Global 200 and their fourth time leading the Global Excl. U.S. chart. This makes them the first K-pop girl group to simultaneously reach No. 1 on both charts. Additionally, it sets a new record for K-pop girl groups with the most No. 1s on each chart.
