Actress Gu Hye Seon, who has been out of the public eye for a while, recently shared an update on her new project.
On August 7, actress Gu Hye Seon announced on social media that construction on her new office is complete. She also told fans that she plans to open her new business and greet everyone in September.
In June of this year, Gu Hye Seon announced she is now the CEO of her own venture company. She is showcasing her talents in various fields, including a patented circular hair roll she researched and developed herself. The actress graduated from Sungkyunkwan University's Department of Imaging last year and began a master's degree in engineering at KAIST's Graduate School of Science and Journalism in June of last year.
The Korea Venture Business Association certified her startup from May 28, 2025, to May 27, 2028.
This marks a new chapter for Gu Hye Seon, five years after her divorce. The actress hasn't appeared in any dramas or films since 2022, instead focusing on her studies. It appears she will continue on this path, now as a CEO rather than primarily an actress.
Gu Hye Seon finalized her divorce with actor Ahn Jae Hyun in 2020 through court-mediated settlement.
Gu Hye Seon began her acting career in 2004 and is best known for her roles in K-dramas such as You're Too Much, Angel Eyes, Absolute Boyfriend, Boys over Flowers, and more.
In 2015, she starred in the series Blood alongside Ahn Jae Hyun, whom she married the following year. Their divorce was publicly announced three years later. After a hiatus, Gu Hye Seon returned in 2022 with her self-directed film, Dark Yellow, but she has not taken on any acting roles since then.
