Actor Kim Soo Hyun's agency has provided an update on the legal proceedings involving individuals connected to the late Kim Sae Ron.
On October 26, GOLDMEDALIST issued an official statement announcing that several individuals who allegedly participated in offenses alongside Kim Se Eui of the YouTube channel HoverLab Inc. have been referred to the prosecution after criminal charges were recognized against them.

We would like to inform you of the results of the police investigations into multiple complaints and accusations filed by Kim Soo Hyun and our company against the bereaved family of the late Kim Sae Ron, individuals who impersonated the deceased's aunt, and others. The results are as follows.
Following the indictment and arrest of Kim Se Ui of HoverLab Inc. (Garo Sero Research Institute) in connection with this case, criminal charges have also been recognized against the accomplices who participated alongside Kim Se Ui in a series of offenses, including the dissemination of false information, and their cases have been referred to the prosecution.
The accomplices referred to the prosecution this time include individuals who impersonated the deceased's mother and aunt. They face charges including violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation by stating false information), violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (distribution of footage using cameras, etc.), and attempted coercion. The authorities decided not to refer the deceased's father to the prosecution.
In addition, the police conducted a separate investigation on their own initiative into accomplices who had not originally been included in the initial complaints. Criminal charges were also established against attorney Bu Ji Seok, the bereaved family's legal counsel who led two press conferences using false and manipulated materials identified by investigators — including fabricated or altered KakaoTalk messages and AI-manipulated audio — and Kwon Young Chan, the operator of the YouTube channel Kwon Young Chan TV. Both have been referred to the prosecution.
Attorney Bu Ji Seok was referred to the prosecution on charges of defamation under the Criminal Act and violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation by stating false information), while Kwon Young Chan was forwarded to the prosecution on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (distribution of footage using cameras, etc.).
