Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin shared their thoughts on working together again for the first time in 10 years since Dr. Romantic.
The Perfect Lie follows a man and a woman who make completely opposite claims about the same memory and clash fiercely as they pursue the truth.
Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin star as the leads, Min Jun Ho and Kang Ji Seon, respectively, who clash as they give different accounts of the same memory.
The drama is also drawing anticipation as it marks the reunion of Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin after 10 years. The two actors, whose previous production together, Dr. Romantic, recorded a peak viewership rating of over 20%, are set to engage in a tense acting showdown as they reunite in roles that place them in a completely different character relationship from before. They discussed the changes they have noticed in each other and their on-screen chemistry as they worked together to bring a project to life again after so long.
Yoo Yeon Seok expressed his happiness at reuniting with Seo Hyun Jin, saying, "Although we met again after 10 years, it felt more welcoming and comfortable than unfamiliar. Because we trust each other, even in emotionally challenging scenes, we were able to lean on each other and draw acting energy from one another while filming."
He also said, "In this project, the tension between the two characters and their emotional changes are important. Seo Hyun Jin is an actress who is highly sensitive to her partner's words and actions while conveying her own emotions with great depth and intensity." Yoo added, "Thanks to Seo Hyun Jin's concentration, I was also able to immerse myself deeply in every scene, and I found it fascinating that we could trust each other's performances and respond to one another."
Seo Hyun Jin also expressed her satisfaction with reuniting with Yoo Yeon Seok. "At first, there were moments when I thought, 'He's changed so much,' so it was enjoyable to watch Yoo Yeon Seok's performance. As filming progressed, I found it nice and comfortable to be able to act while trusting Yoo Yeon Seok."
Seo Hyun Jin also praised Yoo Yeon Seok's ability to adapt on set and his ideas. "I felt that Yoo Yeon Seok is an actor who reliably delivers on his part. He tends to come up with a lot of ideas on set, which helped make the scenes richer." She added, "He gave me the confidence that he would respond well to whatever I brought to my performance, and I was truly grateful for that."
