The TVING original series The Substitute has unveiled a teaser.
The Substitute is a crime thriller that follows Nam Jae Yeop (Bae Hyun Sung), Kang Geon Tae (Cha Kang Yoon), and Ju Hui Dong (Park Yoon Ho), whose struggles and desires drive them toward an irreversible crime on the day of the college entrance exam.
A top student from a financially disadvantaged background attends an elite private high school on a special scholarship and is coerced into taking the exam for someone who threatens to expose his secret.
The story follows students facing a test that determines whether they can avoid becoming failures in life, with their futures hinging on successfully completing the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT). Amid an unpredictable plot rife with betrayal and tricks, three characters face extreme dilemmas as they engage in fierce battles of wits and thrilling psychological warfare.
In the teaser, Bae Hyun Sung (Nam Jae Yeop) asks, "Deal?" as Cha Kang Yoon (Kang Geon Tae) and Park Yoon Ho (Ju Hui Dong) plunge into a situation with no turning back. The phrases "One day that will decide your fate" and "A deal begins that will turn everything upside down," superimposed over an exam scene, deepen curiosity about the storm their choices will unleash.
Although Nam Jae Yeop appears to be a perfect, model student on the outside, he harbors a hidden sense of inadequacy. His life takes a turn when Kang Geon Tae, a special scholarship student from a low-income family, enters his world, setting in motion a precarious partnership between them.
When Ju Hui Dong, Kang Geon Tae's only close friend, also gets caught up in the situation, the dynamics between the three spiral out of control.
Nam Jae Yeop's smile reveals nothing of his true intentions; Kang Geon Tae's anxious gaze as he clutches a crumpled report card; and Ju Hui Dong's sharp expression of anger all foreshadow a series of unsettling events as their desires and emotions collide.
