Kim Sae Ron's posthumous film 'Everyday, We' confirmed to premiere in 2026
“She won’t let us walk away—we have to take her down.”
Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for Butterfly, a gripping new spy thriller series premiering this September. Based on the graphic novel by Arash Amel, Butterfly is a high-stakes, character-driven story set in the shadowy world of espionage, blending Korean drama with Western spy action.
Daniel Dae Kim stars as David Jung, a former U.S. intelligence operative now living a quiet life in South Korea—until the fallout from a past mission resurfaces. Hunted by Rebecca (Reina Hardesty), a ruthless young agent working for a covert organization known as Caddis, David must confront both his past and the assassin sent to erase it.
The cast also features Piper Perabo as a shadowy agency boss, along with Kim Ji-hoon, Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee, Charles Parnell, Sean Dulake, and Nayoon Kim. Guest appearances by Sung Dong-il and Lee Il-hwa round out the ensemble.
Described as “Second chances don’t come twice” and “They share a past, now they share a mission,” the series dives deep into themes of redemption, betrayal, and fractured loyalties.
Created by Ken Woodruff and Steph Cha, with additional writing by Dave Kalstein, Sung Rno, Diana Son, and Denise Thé, Butterfly is directed by Kitao Sakurai (Dave, Twisted Metal, The Eric Andre Show). Executive producers include Woodruff, Cha, Kim, John Cheng, Stephen Christy, Ross Richie, and Arash Amel. The show is produced by Amazon Studios in partnership with The Amel Company, Boom! Studios, and 3AD.
Butterfly premieres on Prime Video starting August 13, 2025. Trailer below
