Actor Lee Joon Gi will be starring in the Japanese drama Kidnap Game.

On May 22, Namoo Actors revealed that Lee Joon Gi recently joined the large-scale global project Kidnap Game, a co-production involving production teams from Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong.

Kidnap Game centers on kidnapping cases that break out simultaneously across seven Asian cities — Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, Naha, and Manila — and tells the story of characters who enter a life-or-death survival game to save someone precious to them. The series has currently confirmed broadcast and streaming releases in 18 regions worldwide.

In the drama, Lee Joon Gi plays Han Ki Joo, a highly skilled surgeon. Ki Joo is a character who, for some reason, is now living an ordinary life away from the medical field. However, after his visually impaired daughter is suddenly kidnapped, he ends up joining the game to save her.

Kidnap Game also stars Japanese actor Sakaguchi Kentaro, Taiwanese actress Ko Chia Yen, Hong Kong star Stanley Yau, Singaporean actor Carrie Wong,  Filipino actor Joel Torre, and Thai actress Praew Narupornkamol Chaisang. The drama will air on Channel A.

The series is scheduled to premiere in October.
