Meng Zi Yi's studio to file lawsuit amid online rumors and defamation claims

The upcoming Korean film Hope, invited to the competition section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, released its international trailer on May 18.
Hope centers on Beom Seok (Hwang Jung Min), the head of the Hopo Port branch office in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). When local youths report a tiger sighting, the village is plunged into a state of emergency as they face an unimaginable reality.
The teaser opens with scenes of Hopo Port village being attacked by an unidentified force. Police officer Sung Ae (Jung Ho Yeon) comes out of a patrol car stopped in the middle of the road, while Beom Seok (Hwang Jung Min) stands before a severely wrecked store and is confronted with an unbelievable scene.
The trailer also depicts Hopo Port branch office head Beom Seok, village youth Seong Gi (Zo In Sung), police officer Sung Ae, and other residents encountering the entity that attacked the village. They engage in a desperate struggle to protect the village from the unidentified being.
The trailer gradually builds tension before unfolding with an unpredictable rhythm and fast-paced progression. It features uniquely shot car chase sequences, intense shootouts, and pursuit scenes in the forest. It also includes an action sequence in which characters dodge an alien attack while riding on horseback.
Hope is scheduled to be released this summer. Watch the teaser here.
