Tian Xi Wei and Hu Yi Tian's 'Genius Girlfriend' announces premiere date
Korea–Japan co-produced rom-com Merry Berry Love has unveiled posters.
On July 30, CJ ENM announced, "Merry Berry Love will premiere worldwide this October." The drama will be streamed globally via Disney+ and Japan's Nippon TV.
Set on a remote Japanese island with its beautiful scenery, the drama follows Korean spatial planner Lee Yoo Bin (Ji Chang Wook) and Japanese female farmer Shirahama Karin (Imada Mio). The drama is helmed by director Kim Soo Jung and Noh Young Sub.
As the first co-production project between CJ ENM, a "global IP powerhouse," and Japan's Nippon TV, the series has already generated significant buzz by bringing together Ji Chang Wook, who plays Lee Yoo Bin, and rising Japanese star Imada Mio, who takes on the role of Shirahama Karin.
Ji Chang Wook transforms into Lee Yoo Bin, a spatial planner who loses everything overnight.
In the drama, Lee Yoo Bin had achieved great success in Korea, but after suddenly losing everything one day, he heads to Charo Island in a bid to turn his situation around. There, he becomes entangled with Karin, a strawberry farmer.
Nam Yoon Su will play Park Gu Nam, a part-time worker on the island.
Also rounding out the cast are Imada Mio as Shirahama Karin, a strawberry farmer who has devoted her life to growing strawberries, and Kumada Rinka as Mizuno Mari, Karin's best friend and a tarot reader.
Merry Berry Love will premiere worldwide this October on Disney+. It is also scheduled to air every Wednesday on Japan's terrestrial broadcaster Nippon TV.
