'True Education': Kim Mu Yeol & team to teach hard lesson to those undermining the education system
Jo Jung Suk won't give up on his daughter, even if the whole world turns against her, in 'My Daughte
The upcoming zom-com My Daughter Is a Zombie is gearing up for release.
My Daughter is a Zombie tells the story of a doting father who tries to protect his daughter, who has turned into a zombie, from the world.
Fresh teasers were released, giving a glimpse of Jeong Hwan (Jo Jung Suk) trying to train his zombie-infected daughter, Soo Ah (Choi Yu Ri).
Determined to protect his daughter — now the last zombie left in the world — Jeong Hwan heads down to his hometown, Eunbong-ri. His friend, Dong Bae (Yoon Kyung Ho), is startled at how unrecognizably Soo Ah has changed, and tries to play it off by saying, "Soo Ah's changed a bit." Jeong Hwan and his mother, Bam Sun (Lee Jung Eun), brush it off with humor, saying, "She's grown a lot. Puberty, you know."
Jeong Hwan then launches a top-secret training mission to tame Soo Ah, with Bam Sun's discipline using a back scratcher and Dong Bae's support. Meanwhile, when Jeong Hwan and Bam Sun witness Soo Ah remembering the dance she used to practice with her dad before she was infected, they cling to hope, continuing their training efforts.
However, tension rises with the coming of Yeon Hwa, who despises zombies and says, "That's not your daughter." As Soo Ah's existence as an infected person is on the verge of being exposed to the outside world, the situation spirals out of control. Alongside the tagline — "Even if the whole world turns its back on you, I won't give up" — a touching scene is shown where Soo Ah innocently asks, "Daddy, can you wait just a little longer?" and Jeong Hwan, holding back tears, replies, "I'll wait."
Jo Jung Suk said, "The image of a father who would do anything for his daughter resembles me."
Director Pil Gam Seong commented, "I had actor Jo Jung Suk in mind for the role of Jeong Hwan since I started working on the script," adding, "He moves effortlessly between comedy and tragedy. His sense of rhythm and quick wit are second to none! His ideas for comedy were unbelievably brilliant."
My Daughter is a Zombie is coming this July. Watch the teaser here.
