The famous second-generation K-pop girl group 4MINUTE recounted the moment they found out the group was disbanding.

Kwon So Hyun recently featured her former 4MINUTE bandmate, Jeon Ji Yoon, as a guest on her YouTube channel. The two talked about updates on their lives, answered fan questions, and more.

Through their conversation, Kwon So Hyun and Jeon Ji Yoon shared about the disbandment of their K-pop group 4MINUTE.

All five members of 4MINUTE were surprised by the news of their disbandment. According to Kwon So Hyun, she had requested more time to consider her future while the group was negotiating their contract renewal with Cube Entertainment. However, before she could make her decision, the members suddenly received an official notice that the group was breaking up.

Unable to accept the news and wanting to discuss it more, Kwon So Hyun and Jeon Ji Yoon drove to the residence of the Cube Entertainment CEO. However, their attempts at negotiation failed when they were reportedly denied entry and never got the chance to speak to the CEO.

After 4MINUTE disbanded, the members went their separate ways professionally. HyunA was the only one who continued her journey with Cube Entertainment.

4MINUTE made their debut in 2009. They are best known for their hit songs Hot Issue, What's Your Name, Crazy, and more. The group concluded its activities in 2016.
