Singer and actress Kang Mi Na announced that she will not be part of I.O.I's possible reunion next year.

On September 12, Kang Mi Na's agency released their official statement about the singer-actress's participation in the reported reunion of her former K-pop group I.O.I.

Reports are circulating that the group I.O.I is planning to reunite next year for their 10th debut anniversary. Most members are expected to join, and Jeon So Mi has even hinted at her participation, stating that the reunion is most likely happening and she's already clearing her schedule to prepare.

Meanwhile, Kang Mi Na is the first member to officially state her position on the possible reunion. According to Kang Mi Na's agency, Story J Company, "While we know fans have been eagerly anticipating the reunion, the possible reunion schedule conflicts with Kang Mi Na's upcoming K-drama projects, including filming and promotions. We've had extensive discussions with her, and in the end, we respect her decision to focus on her acting career. As a result, she will not be joining the reunion project."

I.O.I., the first project group from Produce 101, debuted in May 2016 with Kang Mina as a member. The group disbanded in 2017 after a period of promotions. Next year, they are reportedly planning to reunite in May 2026 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut.

Kang Mi Na is currently part of the ongoing KBS K-drama with Ma Dong Seok, Park Hyung Sik, Seo In Guk, Sung Dong Il, Lee Joo Bin, and Ko Kyu Pil

Next year, Kang Mi Na will star in two upcoming K-dramas.

She will make her official debut on Netflix through the upcoming original series Wish Your Death alongside Jeon So Young, Baek Sun Ho, Hyun Woo Seok, Lee Hyo Je, and Jeon So Nee
