Kim Sung Cheol is possibly set to star alongside Jin Ki Joo in a new K-drama.

On February 9, MyDaily stated that actor Kim Sung Cheol has been cast as the lead in the upcoming rom-com Sleeping Doctor (literal title).

Responding to the report, Kim Sung Cheol's agency Story J Company stated, "He has received an offer to star in Sleeping Doctor and is currently reviewing it."

Sleeping Doctor tells the story of a psychiatrist who, having experienced sexual assault in the past, believes she has overcome everything. But symptoms of narcolepsy leave her falling asleep whenever she faces patients, making it difficult to keep her clinic afloat. She then meets a freelance doctor, who helps her overcome her past trauma and take steps toward healing.

Kim Sung Cheol has been offered to play Nam Ji Oh, a freelance doctor at a mental health clinic, a character equipped with exceptional memory. Jin Ki Joo has been offered the role of Hong Kyung, the director of Healer Mental Health Clinic.

Jin Ki Joo recently starred in Undercover High School, alongside Seo Kang Jun, where she played Oh Soo Ah — a temporary Korean history teacher aspiring to secure a full-time position.

Kim Sung Cheol was last seen in the Netflix supernatural thriller Hellbound Season 2, where he played the lead role of Jung Jin Su, a cult leader of the New Truth Society, a role previously played by Yoo Ah In.

More news about the upcoming medical K-drama is yet to come. Stay tuned!
