Kim Young Kwang makes a special appearance in the first episode of the upcoming fantasy drama The Haunted Palace.
The Haunted Palace is a fantasy drama that follows Yeo Ri (Bona), the only granddaughter of a famous shaman who refuses to accept her destiny as a spirit medium, and Yoon Gap (Yook Sung Jae), who becomes possessed by an imugi, which is related to Yeo Ri, as they confront a vengeful spirit harboring a deep grudge against the royal family.
Kim Young Kwang makes a special appearance as the original imugi Kang Cheol Yi, who possesses the human Yoon Gab.
Kang Cheol Yi is a creature who failed to transform into a dragon and despises humans to the core. In an attempt to ascend to the heavens using the spiritual power of the shaman Yeo Ri, he chases after her but ends up trapped in the body of Yoon Gab.
In the stills, Kim Young Kwang exudes a dark aura. Wearing a black robe, he walks with a commanding presence. Anticipation rises for Kim Young Kwang's performance as Kang Cheol Yi, as his character is the starting point for all the events in the story.
The Haunted Palace production team said, "First, we would like to express our gratitude to actor Kim Young Kwang for gladly lending his support despite his brief appearance." They added, "Actor Kim Young Kwang is set to open the story as the malevolent being imugi Kang Cheol Yi, showcasing his deep gaze, intense aura, and unique mystical visuals. Please look forward to it."
The Haunted Palace premieres on April 18. The K-drama will be available to stream on Viki.
