The Korean film My Daughter Is a Zombie has achieved another milestone.

The Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing network recently revealed that the thriller comedy film My Daughter Is a Zombie has attracted over 5 million viewers since August 24.

This film is the first Korean movie to reach five million viewers in 2025. It is also the first to do so since I, the Executioner, led by Hwang Jung Min, Jung Hae In, and Oh Dal Soo, 11 months ago, and it has already surpassed Pilot, Korea's biggest box office hit of the summer of 2024. When the movie premiered, it attracted 430,101 moviegoers in South Korea. It currently holds the record for the best opening day of 2025 and has become the all-time biggest opener for a Korean comedy film.

After the film reached the 5 million viewer milestone, the main leads showed their appreciation by sharing handwritten messages for moviegoers.

My Daughter Is a Zombie tells the story of an animal trainer father determined to protect his daughter, who has become a zombie but still vaguely understands human speech and reacts to her favorite things. The film will base its story on the webtoon of the same name by  Lee Yoon Chang.

Jo Jung Suk, Lee Jung Eun, Cho Yeo Jung, Yoon Gyung Ho, and Choi Yu Ri are the main leads of the film.

The film is the latest work of director Pil Gam Seong, who also created the K-drama A Bloody Lucky Day and the film Hostage: Missing Celebrity

My Daughter Is a Zombie is still in theaters across Korea, where it has been showing since its premiere on July 30, 2025. The film has also been released internationally in countries such as the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Macau, and more.
