Park Seo Joon and Park Hae Il may co-star in a new film.

According to an exclusive report by Ilgan Sports on July 2, Park Seo Joon and Park Hae Il have received an offer to star in the film I Am a Firefly (working title). In response to the report, a representative from Park Seo Joon's agency Awesome ENT stated, "It is one of the projects he has been offered." Park Hae Il's agency has not yet responded to the report.

Set in 1974, during the military dictatorship, I Am a Firefly tells the story of a detective who has long suffered under the guilt-by-association system. While pursuing a major case to make a leap in his career, he discovers the secret of the residents of Hwayong Village, who have been living in hiding after faking their deaths.

The film draws inspiration from the 1950 Bodo League Massacre. Following the start of the Korean War, South Korean authorities detained members of the National Bodo League, along with others they viewed as possible threats. As government troops withdrew, thousands of these detainees were killed without trial in an event that is now widely regarded as a politically driven massacre.

Park Seo Joon has been offered the role of Seol Jun Kyung. He is a Public Security Bureau detective whose father has been placed under government surveillance.

Having spent his life conforming to the organization's ideology in order to survive and climb the social ladder, he begins to experience a conflict after confronting the hidden truth and the brutal reality of state violence.

Park Hae Il has reportedly been offered to play Kim Man Seop, a mysterious elderly man who lives on the streets in front of the Public Security Bureau. He was once the first chief of the Hwayong Police Substation. Although he now lives as if hiding his memories, he possesses sharp insight and formidable combat skills. He is the pivotal figure who hints to the detective about the secret of Hwayong Village.

The film will be directed by Lee Joon Ik, with shooting scheduled to begin in October. Stay tuned!
