On October 23, the production team behind Netflix's new series The Blue Road released a poster and trailer.

Based on the webtoon of the same name, The Blue Road tells the story of two detectives, Kim Seok (Son Suk Ku) and Inose (Nagayama Eita), who investigate a series of murders that occur across Korea and Japan, where they discover bodies with twisted limbs and mysterious messages.

The poster features Kim Seok (Son Suk Ku), a detective with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and Inose (Eita Nagayama), a detective with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

The beads of sweat running down Kim Seok's face and the blood splattered across Inose's face evoke tension. As they investigate a case that crosses national borders, the two detectives' evolving relationship, marked by both cooperation and confrontation, raises curiosity.

The trailer begins with Kim Seok listening to news about the Shinjuku murder case amid a crowd, while Inose heads to the crime scene. Kim Seok then says, "A similar murder took place in Korea recently." A mysterious message written in Korean and Japanese subsequently appears at the scene, hinting at a connection between the two cases.

While briefing the case, Kim Seok reveals that the culprit has been identified as Japanese. Inose's reaction to this revelation foreshadows the tense friction that will develop between the South Korean and Japanese detectives.

Adding to the intrigue is Lee Yoon Ok (Kim Shin Rok), who makes the suggestive remark, "Don't you want to know who the witness is?" This raises curiosity about her involvement in the case.

In the latter half of the trailer, the two detectives throw themselves into the fight to uncover the truth behind the case, followed by car-chase action set against the backdrop of Hong Kong. With director Han Jun Hee's signature stylish mise-en-scène and the on-screen chemistry between Son Suk Ku and Eita Nagayama, the series is expected to showcase the appeal of a hardcore crime-investigation drama.

Blue Road is coming November 20. Watch the teaser here.
