On October 29, the production team of Netflix's upcoming original series Blue Road released character stills of Kim Seok (Son Suk Ku), a detective with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and Inose (Nagayama Eita), a detective with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

The Blue Road tells the story of two detectives, Kim Seok (Son Suk Ku) and Inose (Nagayama Eita), who investigate a series of murders that occur across Korea and Japan, where they discover bodies with twisted limbs and mysterious messages.

The stills capture the contrasting charms of Kim Seok and Inose. As Kim Seok examines a firearm, his cold expression and emotionless gaze reveal his cool-headed nature. He is a tenacious detective who refuses to be deterred by orders from his superiors or national borders. Although he appears unshakable on the outside, he harbors inner turmoil.

Son Suk Ku explained his character Kim Seok, saying, "He seems like someone who is unshakable on the outside, but there is an aspect of him where he suffers greatly because of the turmoil within and tries to overcome it."

Inose delves into cases with a rougher energy than Kim Seok. The stills show him receiving applause from citizens after subduing someone in a Tokyo alley. He tackles cases head-on whenever his instincts tell him something is amiss, pursuing criminals with passion and strong determination.

Nagayama Eita described Inose as "a character who is more passionate than anyone when it comes to a case and confronts it to the very end with a strong determination to catch the culprit no matter what."

The two detectives pursue the truth behind the cases, sometimes working together and sometimes coming into conflict. Director Han Jun Hee remarked, "Both characters could each be the protagonist of an entire story," adding, "I think the two actors did a great job of bringing out the feeling of being contrasting and alike at the same time."

Blue Road is coming November 20.
