Actor Kim Jae Young will possibly lead his first-ever romantic comedy K-drama.
On February 24, media outlets reported that Kim Jae Young will be the male lead of the upcoming romantic comedy K-drama Idol Kid (working title).
Kim Jae Young's side hasn't responded to the casting news.
If Kim Jae Young decides to join Idol Kid, this will be his first official rom-com as the main lead. Back in 2022, he also starred in the rom-com Love in Contract but as the second lead.
Last year, Kim Jae Young gained a lot of new fans through the K-drama The Judge from Hell. Many also praised his chemistry with co-stars Park Shin Hye, Kim In Kwon, Kim Ah Young, Lee Joong Ok, and Ha Kyung Min.
Kim Jae Young will also lead the upcoming MBC K-drama My Lovely Journey with Gong Seung Yeon, Yoo Joon Sang, Hong Soo Hyun, Yoo Ji Yeon, and NU'EST's Baekho.
The actor is known for being part of the K-dramas Reflection of You, Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life, Secret Boutique, Dear My Room, 100 Days My Prince, My Secret Romance, and more.

Idol Kid will tell the story of a top star lawyer who was been a fangirl for 15 years and an idol who despises obsessive fans the most.
The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Lee Gwang Young who also created the series Call It Love, No, Thank You, The Secret Life of My Secretary, and the soon-to-be premiere K-drama The Scandal of Chun Hwa.
Kim Jae Young got the offer to portray the role of Do Ra Ik. He previously worked as a singer in a cabaret because of her mother. He then debuted as one of the five members of the idol boy group called Guardians after the CEO of the entertainment company scouted him.
There are still no reports on which actress was offered the role of the female lead, who will portray a top star lawyer.
Idol Kid will exclusively premiere on broadcast channel ENA.
