TVING drama I Am a Running Mate's premiere has been postponed just a week before its scheduled release.

TVING announced on its official homepage, "The release schedule of the TVING original I Am a Running Mate has been changed due to scheduling issues."

I Am a Running Mate is a teen political drama that follows No Se Hoon (Yoon Hyun Soo), who becomes a vice presidential candidate for the student council election after becoming a laughingstock due to an unexpected incident. The drama aims to portray the burning desires and sharp conflicts of youth as they fiercely compete for the high school student council seats. The K-drama was originally set to premiere on March 6.

Having previously released posters and teaser trailers as part of its promotional campaign, I Am a Running Mate has now been abruptly postponed just about a week before its scheduled premiere.

TVING told Star News, "As part of our programming strategy, we are adjusting the release schedule for I Am a Running Mate. Given the ever-changing competitive landscape of the industry, we are reconsidering the optimal release timing for I Am a Running Mate, one of TVING's major original productions."

They further stated, "The release schedule will be updated as soon as it is decided, and to enhance viewer immersion, we plan to release all episodes at once instead of following a weekly release format." I Am a Running Mate marks the directorial debut of Han Jin Won, who won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay as a co-writer of Parasite, and who has also been a part of the directing team for films like Okja.

The production team previously shared their vision, stating, "Through the story of an ordinary boy, we hope to inspire viewers — whether by bringing back memories of the past, prompting reflection on the present, or encouraging them to push forward into the future." They added, "We hope this story provides meaningful entertainment to those who experience it."
