Lee Jae Wook and Shin Ye Eun's 'Doctor on the Edge' unveils teaser
New Chinese historical fantasy How Dare You!?, led by Wang Chu Ran, Ryan Cheng, Tang Xiao Tian, and Hu Yi Xuan, has been confirmed to premiere on February 6.
The C-drama is adapted from the novel of the same Chinese name by Qi Ying Jun, and tells the story of Wang Cui Hua, a modern-day worker, who unexpectedly finds herself inside the plot of a novel and becomes the villainous consort Yu Wan Yin. Teaming up with Xia Hou Dan, a tyrant who's also been transported into the story, she sets out to change the plot's original ending — one that ends in the kingdom's fall.
Workplace newbie Wang Cui Hua unexpectedly ends up inside the plot of a novel, where she meets Zhang San, who is also a traveler. One is a novice in the workplace, fighting hard to resist her fate; the other is a domineering monarch who has been lying low for ten years, keeping his achievements hidden.
The two, who know the plot, begin to implement strategies and plans to survive. Tests confirm that the second female lead, Xie Yong Er, has come from a lower level of the story world.
Wang Cui Hua and Zhang San make preparations in advance for the drought by readying drought-resistant crops; recruit capable people, stabilize the border regions, win over Xie Yong Er, and defeat Prince Duan.
Just as victory is within sight, Xia Hou Dan (Zhang San) finds that his chronic head ailment has worsened to the point of no cure. Only then does Yu Wan Yin (Wang Cui Hua) realize that the anonymous guest had foretold long ago that only one of them could survive. By sparing her back then, Xia Hou Dan let slip his best chance to save himself. Now, Yu Wan Yin makes the same choice to save Xia Hou Dan's life.
Meanwhile, the weak Qiang Kingdom often dispatches assassins to defeat the Great Xia. When a mute assassin attempts to take Xia Hou Dan's life by poisoning him, she uses poison to counter poison, curing Xia Hou Dan's chronic ailment and saving his life.
In the end, both Yu Wan Yin and Xia Hou Dan survive, and they get to witness the prosperous, flourishing era they worked so hard to achieve.
