SBS's upcoming Friday-Saturday drama The Haunted Palace drops second teaser.
The Haunted Palace is a fantasy drama that follows Yeo Ri (Bona), the only granddaughter of a famous shaman who refuses to accept her destiny as a spirit medium, and Yoon Gap (Yook Sung Jae), who becomes possessed by an imugi, which is related to Yeo Ri, as they confront a vengeful spirit harboring a deep grudge against the royal family.
The team behind The Haunted Palace released the second teaser, showcasing imugi Kang Cheol, shaman Yeo Ri, and King Lee Jeong (Kim Ji Hoon) as they confront the mystery of evil spirits that have engulfed the palace.
The teaser draws intrigue as Kang Cheol, who has possessed the body of loyal subject Yoon Gap, enters the palace at the king's summons.
When confronted by the king who alleges, "You are not Yoon Gap," Kang Cheol strikes back dramatically, summoning lightning and declaring, "I am Kang Cheol."
The king is incensed by Kang Cheol's audacity in defying the sovereign, while Kang Cheol remains unfazed, flaunting his arrogant, domineering attitude.
But the humor is short-lived, as bizarre events soon unfold, throwing the palace into chaos. The king is left stunned as he is helplessly attacked by a swarm of centipedes, while Yeo Ri, in the midst of preparing for an exorcism ritual, is suddenly seized by a mysterious being. Alongside this, a fierce and desperate battle unfolds as Kang Cheol, Yeo Ri, and Lee Jeong set their sights on fighting the evil spirits.
Through its second teaser, The Haunted Palace raises anticipation by showcasing the adrenaline-pumping appeal of its exorcism fantasy narrative. Moreover, the performances of established actors Yook Sung Jae, Bona, and Kim Ji Hoon — alongside Kim Sang Ho (as Pung San), Kim In Kwon (as Kim Eung Seon), and Lee Won Jong (as Monk Ga Seop) — draw viewers in with their dynamic character portrayals.
In addition, the dazzling action sequences of the imugi offer a visual spectacle rarely seen in Korean dramas. With its supernatural elements and richly built K-fantasy universe, The Haunted Palace is poised to captivate prospective viewers.
The Haunted Palace premieres on April 18. The K-drama will be available to stream on Viki. Watch the teaser here.
