Tae Ju is Hui Ju’s older half-brother, though he knows he falls short of her in almost every way. Fully aware of this, he often belittles her by calling her a bastard or an illegitimate child, because it is the only advantage he feels he has over her.
When he marries Da Yeong, a woman from a noble family, most people assume it is a strategic marriage meant to secure his position as the heir to Castle Group. In truth, that couldn’t be further from reality. Tae Ju has loved Da Yeong ever since he first saw her at seventeen, and she has been the only woman in his heart ever since.
Because of this, he sometimes feels guilty toward her, believing she unfairly bears criticism because of someone as unremarkable as him. That guilt occasionally pushes him to try harder, hoping to become someone who truly deserves to stand beside her. So when Hui Ju suddenly declares that she will give up Castle Group and marry instead, and even asks for his help, Tae Ju finds himself unexpectedly wanting to support her.
