I originally wrote this under the same topic which was closed due to inactivity, but when I found out I had already written everything so felt like a waste to delete. So I'll post it here, who knows maybe more people like me are way more late to the Goblin party than OP in the older topic lol.
I'm glad I found that discussion because the ending of the drama was what disappointed me the most, so it's comforting to know I was not alone.
I could not believe that Kim Shin, after centuries of suffering, would end up coming back as a Goblin without the sword, to keep on suffering by outliving his loved ones. Make it make sense.
I know it was his decision to not rest in peace and to stay in that limbo instead, to go back to Eun Tak like he promised her, but I would have loved for him to just rest in peace, then reincarnate. Or to just come back mortal from the limbo. We know he would have met Eun Tak again one way or another.
Even Wang Yeo's punishment came to an end, why wasn't it the same for Kim Shin? I couldn't help feeling like his ended up being a neverending punishment.
It's just too sad to think about everything he went through to find peace, and for what?
Yes, he found love. Even better. Just wish it would have been different from the forever sad love Eun Tak and him placed their bets on.
On this bittersweet note, I'll leave :)
