The seven relics corresponds to 7 ways to kill someone. Each relic is an ancient chinese character that corresponds to a way to kill. In the book they already realized way earlier that the 3 divine birds were the clasps that prevents the 7 relics to kill. I dont recall any immortal wood but I might have missed it. They also called the stars in the book the Big Dipper that was associated with the places where the crimes occur, however this was revealed later in the book and not this early.
Zhang guy is the one who "spread" all the relics. I am not sure either why he is talking to all the other relics making him the mastermind. However he was just the bearer of all the relics after he accidentally dug them out.
But I am not sure if they will change this. In the book every relic corresponded to a part of a story that revealed how the relics got "unleashed". Mind you spreading and unleashing were 2 complete different parts. But the drama has not been doing that, nor was there any mention of this important "specie".
No romance between Yi Wansan and Heng girl. Might change in drama.
