Thanks for Xiang for bringing my attention to this. My dear, you are standing on the illusionary Mt. Tai and cannot make a correlated comparison. Let’s make an actual comparison between Renegade Immortal and Whispers Of Fate.

Li Muwan is the female protagonist of 'Renegade Immortal'. She is a powerful figure who excels in defence, formations, and Alchemy, not a cultivation like Wang Lin or others. The basis of the entire novel is Li Muwan, She is the path Wang Lin walks on, she is his Dao heart, and she is his final destination as well. The whole novel only comes together because of Li Muwan. Her popularity surpasses that of Wang Lin with a huge margin on Qidian (where the RI novel was originally published).

If you insist on calling her 'weak', well then Wang Lin is responsible for that. He destroyed her home country and she ended up in Chu country where she became a great alchemist through her own abilities. Early on, to protect Wang Lin, she inscribed the Azure Dragon Jade Slip using her lifespan, leading her to damage her foundation, causing her cultivation to stagnate at the early Core Formation stage, therefore kept failing to achieve a breakthrough in her Cultivation and exhausted her lifespan. Even after her death, she continued to protect him. 

Li Muwan first met him during his darkest time, her honesty and purity made him attached. He witnessed her protecting him, sacrificing for him. His world was only cruel, deceitful, and competing for benefits, but Li Muwan represented sincerity, purity, innocence, the light of this world that he had not witnessed.  Wang Lin loved her so dearly and deeply, being with her was his only happiness, she was ready to let go of herself but she was the only person Wang Lin couldn’t let go of. Resurrecting her was his life-long obsession and his way of life. He would rather die than continue living without her. She is his official wife and the only light in his life; holding the title of 'White Moonlight'. 

The male protagonist, Wang Lin, is a character fundamentally driven by love and pinning for a single person. His entire cultivation journey and spiritual focus  fixates on a singular goal; resurrecting his wife, Li Muwan. As he himself said "I cultivated immortality for a millennium, all for just one person." 

Now coming to Whispers Of Fate, Tang Lici is a character fundamentally driven by living. Tang Lici started off as an overpowered male-lead, a god-like entity whereas Wang Lin started off as an ordinary mortal, although he did end up becoming a love-stuck fool over Fang Zhou, but when faced with a major crisis, he resolutely chose to let go of his obsession to save himself and then save the world, he became a bodhisattva, shining his light over the turbulent world and gathering everyone under his wings. On the other hand, Wang Lin is a total ruthless freak and remained so till the end. Tang Lici and Wang Lin might have some similarities here and there but they walk on a completely different paths.

In Whispers Of Fate, who holds the title of 'White Moonlight' in Tang Lici’s life? Yeah, that’s Fang Zhou! 

What is Tang Lici’s life-long obsession? Yeah, that’s to resurrect Fang Zhou back to life!

Who is that one person Tang Lici couldn’t let go of and would defy fate? Yeah, that’s also Fang Zhou!

Whom Tang Lici loved so deeply in the drama that he would rather die than to live in a world without them? Yeah, that’s again Fang Zhou!

Wang Lin made the entire universe kneel before him, established his own laws and resurrected Li Muwan. He rejected and killed people left right and center. Others had to go through a literal hell to even get acknowledged by him, imagine how significant Li Muwan has to be for him, to love her to this extent. Not even Tang Lici was able to do that, he still chose to let go of Fang Zhou! But Wang Lin! Never! And Fang Zhou despite being so significant in Tang Lici’s life, couldn’t hold the same significance as Li Muwan in Wang Lin’s life. So from where does A Shui even come in the picture?

Is A Shui the official wife of Tang Lici? Is A Shui the 'White Moonlight' in his life? Is A Shui the one he would defy the fate? Is A Shui the one he loved so deeply? Is A Shui the one, he wants to resurrect at the expense of his own life? Is A Shui the path he walks on? Is A Shui the female protagonist? Does A Shui hold the same importance in the story and in Tang Lici’s life as what Li Muwan holds? No. A Big No. 

So my dear, what kind of comparisons are you even drawing? A Shui would be needing to take rebirths after rebirths after rebirths to even stand in the line of becoming Li Muwan!
