Tong Xin is their father. The elder son is actually Tong Shuang but his brother (Tong Peng) uses his big brother’s name not to be target of Qi officials.  He hides his Haiya identity and his origins because of things that happened there. Maybe he has connections with Yesha and Tong Peng chose Bei Ming ( another Haiya victim) just like Huo Dai Rong’s servant did.

We are saying the same thing - maybe Tong Shuang is Tong Peng (a Haiya orphan) or maybe he really just Tong Shuang.

Exactly.

Y'all are confusing me 😭

LOL!  Me too. :)

So ... a question after watching Episode 29 and 30.

From what happened to the wild life (Giant Rabbits) and Luo Sen and his scouting party to the Lonely City, it seems clear that there's something in the water, so to speak, in Haiya.  So, do we think there's a by product from Bei Hai's work?  Or is it a by product from Old Bug / Yesha's attempt to recreat the pill?  Surely it isn't something naturally occurring there?

Generals and Bei Hai were afraid of that it could be someone who leaks Bei Hai’s works outside. That’s why Bei Hai hid his work under the world. There must be someone who knew all of these. Whether it’s Yesha or someone else but  the that I didn’t understand is why he did . On purpose or accidentally?

Plus , we didn’t talk much about the dove girl and her map scene. She was sus and she still is for me.

Yes, but Luo Sen didn't encounter anyone.  They just went in and got the grain.  Neither them or the wildlife (as far as we know) were experimented.

Yes, I suspect the wild life mutation is due to Old Bug and Yesha's attempts to recreate the pill. Old Bug developed his version from experiments with blood (potentially of people that were already infected?). I need to go rewatch that part. Yesha should still be hiding out somewhere in Haiya.

who Yesha is has given me a damn headache. At this point, I'm just ready to figure out who it is because at the present moment with the present episodes it looks like our poison brother again, but I'm so sick of going back-and-forth between people in our squad that I'm just going to say outside source and wait until confirmation of anything.

This is all so interesting. I’m finally caught up on the episodes and just finished EP30. Y’all will be ahead of me tonight…

IIRC Xue Man told Bei Ming he has a ge ge. Is there another word for sibling or brother that is not ge ge or di di? Also, the Bei Han’s inscription mentions Bei Kun first followed by Bei Ming. Is it usually the case that the older brother is typically mentioned first when describing the children in the family?

After watching EP26 (both talking at the old lady’s house) I can totally imagine Kong Yun as Bei Ming’s older brother. Is there any significance as to who is supposed to hold the horse at a wedding in general? Is it usually a servant or reserved for groomsmen? Totally understand people’s comments about why Kong Yun’s name wasn’t on the Haiya orphans list and why his name is not Bei Kun and if he was the older brother, it would be harder to change his name compared to a baby… I wonder what the history behind Kong Yun’s father is…he’s about the same age as the other officials involved in the Haiya massacre…so where was he or what was he doing during that time?

Old Bug did sth then. Nobody comes to my mind except him.

It would also be great if Bei Ming was the older brother and Tong Shuang is the younger brother. But Tong Shuang knows that Bei Hai had burned an incense stick on the right shoulder of his kids…wouldn’t Tong Shuang know if he has a mark on his right shoulder? Same goes for Qing Zhuo, wouldn’t he also know if he has a mark on his right shoulder? But maybe they are thinking they are not Haiya orphans so if they did have a mark, they wouldn’t think twice about it…?

Yes there are other terms but those are the most commonly used. It doesn't really matter whether Beikun or Beiming is the older one. In any case I no longer think Kongyun is Beiming's brother. MAJOR SPOILER -  It is more likely that it is coroner Feng, the little white dragon.

The moment they learn the mark  , camera focuses on Bei Ming first then showes Tong Shuang’s shocking face. Even after they try to get out of the cave , Tong Shuang  saves Bei Ming and disappears somehow. That is the part I think that TS is bro.

However, Xiao Bai Long fits in the story better than TS. He is from Poison Valley like Bei Hai. His master is Bei Hai’s big brother. ZYC gives the baby to his uncle to raise him. He even has a nickname Xiao which is her mother’s name like Bei Ming has .

If we think about how the drugs manifest, the one Bei Hai created gave the soldiers purple veins and they became strong for a while before reverting back to their normal selves…and then a couple of days later they would become “monsters”. The powder General Huo took in the tea in small amounts made him remember the massacre, going crazy (and strong?) over time. The immortality pill that Gu Ghuang Sha took made him remember the massacre, going crazy, and Qing Zhuo mentioned that they guy bled from his orifices (did it make him strong though?). The pill Old Bug took looked to have made him strong but not crazy, based on his eyes when confronting Xue Man. The Luo Shu’s brother was both crazy and strong. But looking back at these people, none of them seemed to have exhibited the purple veins + weird backbones sticking out.
