This is a really old show, I am estimating that it came out during the early 2000s. I could never find what is called since I don't remember the faces of the actors/actresses in it unfortunately (I would have tried searching for it using their drama cast history). So it is a possibility that this drama is not listed on MDL, I am fine with the native title for the show.
What I remember are vague little bits of the plot (some parts may not be fully accurate, but trying to piece things together the best I can).
1. The time period that this drama takes place is during the Republican era in China, though I am thinking it is more closer to the end of this era since the main character's (I think she is the main character lol) son grows up and I remember seeing a more modern looking setting (probably post 1950s).
2. I remember that the this woman (main character I assume) who is a widow with two children marries this man who already has a wife. The wife, her siblings, and her children do not like this and start bullying the main character and her children and making their life difficult. (Basically two families are joined and it creates conflict).
3. The wife is very unhappy with her husband's new marriage, she is constantly fighting with him and displays acts of violence (this part is a big unclear, so may not be fully accurate). Eventually, she goes kind of crazy/has some mental condition. The main character was kind the whole time and I think after many years, the wife eventually accepts the main character and they become more friendly and close with each other.
4. Even though, the main character and wife eventually come to good terms after many years, there is this conflict with the wife's son. He grew up not liking the main character's family (son and daughter), he would clash with MC's son a lot. He often thought that his mother going crazy was due to MC marrying into the household.
5. After many years, the story shift to the wife and MC's children's lives. They are all grown up. The wife's son ends up marrying a girl from a wealthy family and he is ashamed to let others know about his mother/his in laws family discourages him from interacting with his mother. I think there was this scene, where he has a wedding without inviting his mother (at this point, his mother's mental condition is a lot more stable, probably due to reconciliation with MC).
6. A scene outside of this timeline that I wanted to added. MC's daughter dies when the children are young. I think they were fighting by a river/lake and the daughter ends up drowning.
A show that I would say that has a similar vibe to this is Niang Qi 娘妻. The setting is very similar and both stories show their children's lives when they grow up. Just pointing this out, as the show I am looking for is not this.
Really long post lol. I am hoping that some long time Chinese drama watching fan has seen this show at one point, most likely on TV or DVD.
