Here you will find all you need to know, things you didn’t know you wanted to know, and things that just might satisfy your curiosity about 2026's watch challenge. If you do not find the answers to your questions or just want to discuss the challenge, this is where you do it!

What do you mean by.. 


Gem – A numbered group of 5 prompts. 

Properties – Your mission. A condition that a watched Geode must fulfill. 

Geode – Anything listed on MDL (dramas, movies, short films, specials, tv shows).

Tag – Searchable tag on MDL: When asked for a Geode tagged ____, the tag must be among the tags for the Geode (see tutorial finding tags) If the tag has been removed from MDL. The prompt must be of enough significance to be worthy of a tag in the title. 

Spot – Must be mentioned and/or seen in at least one of the scenes in the Geode (title) . Something you could have taken a screenshot of (Note: You do NOT have to take a screenshot for it to be valid. See our voting lists for tips (and help contribute to them if you know Geodes that fit the prompt)!

Someone - Anyone seen on screen, can be an animal, spirit, Humonoild, Robot, Cyborg. 


Black Rose/Knight: Someone who takes a drink/shot instead of someone else.


Genre – Searchable genre on MDL: when asked for a Geode whose genre is _____, the genre must be among the genres listed for the Geode (see tutorial finding genres).


Note: Since MDL is a user-created database, if you see a relevant tag or genre missing from a Geode, help make the site better by adding tags and genres (click on "Edit this page" in the upper right corner on the Geode's main page and click "Genres" from there to add tags and genres. These guidelines will help you get started).


Lead - Actor/ess listed as having a main role 


Lead or Crew – A person listed as a director, cinematographer, producer or a Main Role the cast and crew list. 


Main - Character listed as Main Role in the cast and credits list. This includes young versions of the character



Main or Supporting Character - Character listed as Main Role or Support Role in the cast and credits list. This includes young versions of the character.

Where do I find


…Genres: We have made this tutorial but also included a link to the requested genre in the prompt. You will find the genres attached to each Geode between the Screenwriter and the tags.

…Tags: We have made this tutorial but also included a link to the requested tag in the prompt. Tags are listed on each title’s page right after Genres. 



…Properties where you spot… can be a little bit tricky. While they might be tagged or mentioned in the synopsis, it’s not a requirement for these prompts. The idea is to try to spot what we are asking for while you are watching a Geode. To help you out we made these voting lists where people can add recommendations for the prompts that include the word “Spot: ” in them.

…Old movies with English subtitles? You can use THIS or the lists our amazing challengers helped create in the discussion thread.

Thief: This is called a thief, but lets be kind, and ask nicely one of the other participants if you can steal one of their prompts, for this purpose we have this post.


Actor’s/cast’s birthdays: Each actor/cast member has their birthday listed among the details about them. You will also find actor’s birthdays listed each day at the bottom of MDLs homepage.

Issues resolved:


Tag: Reincarnation  is in both block 4. Amber and 23. Emerald we have now added Tag: Transmigration to 23. ( But not to the codehack) 


The code hack has been fixed

Code hack 

1. copy the code pasted on to this document linked below:

2. Go to your own Settings 

3. Switch to code mode (right corner of toolbar looks like this 

4. Paste the code you just copied at the top 

5. Switch back to viewing mode (same icon) 

6. Look, it should have appeared like magic ... 

7. Mark the application and make sure you have some type of letters in the beginning and end of the section you have marked. 

8. Go to your application post 

9. Paste

10. Did the format follow? 

11. Save

Also #24 doesn't have any prompts and #27 has 2 prompts

I am asking how to fix that now I usually work with one drive not google docs.
So it looks like everything got bumped a category.  I do not know how to fix that quickly.  When shiro comes back maybe she can fix it.

No, at least not in MDL's current form anyway (I dont know what a future update may bring). This set of prompts might be a bit more laborious to get started - though we do have the linked custom lists, and a few MDL members are sharing their already existing lists around.

That's wonderful! Hope MDL does eventually find a way to find casts based on birth months. I have always wanted this feature.

I don't have a list of "alot" of actors/actresses, but I do have a list of them that I enjoy and I've listed their birthdays if that makes it easier.
