Ok, this is going to be a challenge so "get your thinking caps on".

One MDL movie/drama vs one movie or drama from any country (including MDL ones) with contrasting or conflicting information, cultural norms or what have you. One might say (for example) that drinking cold water is great for older people while the other says it is not. One might have characters that claim Maseratti is the best car brand while the other says Daihatsu is. Or it could be that one might promote family over work while the other says work is more important. You can choose something silly or serious, it is up to you.

2. Story of Yanxi Palace and Princess Pearl - on Emperor Qianlong's third empress

The portrayal of Emperor Qianlong's future third empress. She's a smart and cunning woman in the SoYP, and she's a happy-go-lucky and a bit dumb (could also be a hint that she's actually the smartest since no man likes conflict?) in PP.

3. Autumn Tale/Endless Love and Like Father, Like Son - on which one is more important, blood or attachment

The portrayal of parents-children bond on the case of switched at birth children. Unlike the former parents who choose their real daughter over the daughter who's been with them for like 15 years, the latter parents choose the son that's only been 5 years being with them which proven family is not always about having the same blood or dna.

4. Dae Jang Geum is Watching and Go Ahead - on whether a woman needs a carreer or not before getting married

FL was being told by his mother that a woman should have carreer first before thinking of marriage in DJGiW (she's 29-30). In GA, MC's best friend's mother keeps telling her to quit her mediocre job and marry a man of similar background the mother choose as the blind date partner (she's 25-26?).

5. Confessions (2010) vs Taxi Driver

Juvenile justice system allowed kids under 13(?) get away with any crime due to their age. Kids in Confessions murdered little girl and were not punished. The point of Taxi Driver is any criminal must get punished regardless their age, so taxi avengers gave school bullies what they deserved

Now seriously, I like the point of this drama that it's normal to make mistakes because we all live for the first time

Also, this drama was great at portraying different PoV on marriage, career and life in general

6. Dong Yi vs Jang Ok Jung, Living by Love

I think these dramas are perfect for this challenge, as they are two perspectives of one story - lives of two Royal wives of same King. First is told from Dong Yi's perspective, Second is told from Jang Ok Jung's perspective

I did not watch the second one, but judging by first one, JOJ was more ambitious, she wanted to be the Queen and then Queen Mother. DY chose more humble life, she gave up on her position, refused to be the Queen and lived outside the palace and even gave up on her son, so he could make a better prince as the son of the queen and not low born mom
