8. The Story of Ming Lan - Qi Heng had a few transitions in the drama, as compared to one dimensional ML that had some character development but still has the same prideful, manipulating behaviour, and selfish personality since the beginning to the end (that including scheming Ming Lan to marry her, planning to divorce Ming Lan for the bigger plan-emperor plan). Qi Heng's personality changed from naive innocent boy to one accepting his fate to a bitter nobleman, a selfish widower that gaslighted an ex, to a grumpy always want to devour a love rival and later going back to his previous self; accepting fate with the desire to make amend to his second wife, his ex-childhood sweetheart, his family, his love rival/uncle and the nation. Great acting, Zhu Yi Long!
