I just started it, it's really fun and has a lot of fan service. The guys are all cute, one's shy and reserved, one is always cheerful like an adorable puppy and dresses in crop tops and booty shorts sometimes, and one's giving himbo vibes. The FL is cool, I'm looking forward to the main's relationship, the guy seems a bit more reserved  while she's more upfront

• The female lead is stunning
• "I love watching virtuous ascetics lose control,"  They wasted no time setting up the power dynamic 
• Ke Rui reminds me a little of Mira Kano from Imawa no Kuni no Alice
• Not Xu Yawei being a druggy? >.>
• Oh yay one of my favorite tags bodyguard 
• Dong Yang was going to let Ying Xian take that knife
• OK, clearly, she's on drugs cause did she not see him trying to protect her before the man launched out with a knife? 
• I'm calling it now. He's openly giving Ying Xian permission to buy the bodyguard, but once he sees their connection, he's going to have a problem with it
• I do love this time. The clothes are so beautiful the women's attitude the men relinquishing some power over. It's a game of cat and mouse and it's so fun to watch.
• Dang, how sharp were her nails she got him pretty good on the cheek
• I'm laughing so hard right now because these two are just making love with their eyes meanwhile Xu Yawei  is locked in the car watching this all go down LOL and they're not subtle about it either
• So her family is the reason why his sister is now in critical condition. I'm assuming she's going to get him to either model for her or be her bodyguard to pay for the hospital bills that's the only conclusion I can come up with
• Also, what happened to the scars on his cheeks in that last scene? They just disappeared. o.O, or did I miss them? haha

Definitely an interesting beginning- Curious to see where this goes 

• What is that intro song? o-o seems very ill-fitting considering everything else we saw and even the visuals themselves, just- what??
• did she.... did she really take pictures of him like... that?! I- O//-//O Very bold 
• And DID SHE IMPLY THAT HE- YKNOW, LIKED IT- I am sobbiiiiiinnngggggggg- this is not subtle AT ALL, good GRIEF

• And her fiance ENCOURAGING HER... How cool would it be if he's totally on board with her having a boy toy and the two become friends instead of love rivals- omg, wouldn't that be something (but he's giving scum so I'm not holding my breath)
• ML: *can't use a lighter* FL: *heart eyes* I need him. 
• ...There's a LOT of slowmo staring scenes so far... 🙂
• "It even stays perfectly straight when you bend down" .......Interesting and totally innocent observation you made there, FL... 😏😏😏😏
• The narration as if this were a historical adventure epic is throwing me offff
• Not the journalist seeing people either severely injured or dead in a car and then SNAPPING A GODDANG PIC T-T I know it's not funny but the way it was shot makes me laugh 
• of course the girl is ML's sister xD What was I expecting? Bet ya she's gonna be annoying and/or trouble
• I love the aesthetics of this time period. Art deco is one of my favourite styles (just sucks that so many republican dramas are mid to trash)

• They wasted no time - 1000%, really setting the scene right off the bat

• Dong Yang was going to let Ying Xian take that knife - Yuuuuuupp, it's giving "don't take me, take her!"
• clearly, she's on drugs - Oh, DEFS- she was already jittery and kinda out of it in the first scene- she's very much not there
• he's going to have a problem with it - Oooooooo, that makes sense. 'Cause I was like, there's no way he's actually oblivious as to what she meant but why let her have a boytoy (he seems scummy). I would be very on board with this scenario of him being a-ok with it until he sees the connection, definitely more spice than the usual love rival bullcrap
• I do love this time - Saaaaaame, definitely refreshing!
• watching this all go down - AHAHAHAHHAA I KNOW RIGHT? I was totally expecting her to butt in at some point but they were able to have their entire session uninterrupted
• that's the only conclusion I can come up with - It could be an 'and' situation xD I defs think the bodyguarding thing is gonna be because of that... as for the pictures... Hmmm, it could just be insurance for their contract xD

tell me about it! I love chinese republican era dramas, like the era has SO MUCH potential but most of them are either very much about propaganda or the microdramas are just plain bad with overused plots (ofc there are some hidden gems among them as well but yeah...)
