My exploration into the drama world began in 2004 when I encountered the manga MARS by Fuyumi Soryo. I was instantly drawn to the tale of a rebellious bad boy and a timid, misunderstood girl. Eager to learn more about the creator, I searched for information, but resources were limited online at that time. By chance, I discovered the Taiwanese drama adaptation, and as I watched it, my connection to the story deepened. Vic Zhou was undeniably charming! Seeing my beloved characters come to life changed my perspective and sparked my enthusiasm for Asian media.

I was infatuated with Vic until 2009, during which I became enamored with the classic bad boy-good girl dynamic, leading me to watch the Korean drama Boys Over Flowers. Both dramas will always hold a special place in my heart, but BOF introduced me to a new character type—Yoon Ji Hoo, played by the delightful Kim Hyun Joong. He was my first encounter with the phenomenon of second-lead syndrome! I found myself conflicted, torn between the ultimate bad boy (Chen Ling) and the ideal soulmate who deserved all the love and care in the world.

As time has gone by, my preferences have shifted, yet some elements remain unchanged. While I’ve slightly moved away from the bad boy trope, my appreciation for positive traits in partners has only grown. Perhaps this reflects my age, but there’s something incredibly attractive about a partner who supports you in all your pursuits. Watching them interact with children fills me with joy and gives me butterflies, whether they’re cooking, working, or simply being adorably shy. I can’t help but fall for them every time, especially when the relationship dynamics are reversed!
