• Didn't the bad guys have the high ground? Why are both their armies just fighting in the valley? Don't they have arrows? 😭
• Okay, but I have to praise the armors and the fighting scenes, both look sooo good!!
  • And I love how they are not only using swords to fight but also the shields or just simply body-slamming into the enemies. 
• FINALLY they realized that they have bows and arrows! But damn, couldn't they start by shooting?
• Lu Yuan taking charge of the army, yes queen!!
• Shen running to the rescue <3 
  • oh no I really thought that he would bring the reinforcements... :( 
  • they won, she is alright, phew :)
• Plot twists are plot twisting, this drama always surprises me. 
• Ooo I love the way Shen decided to make the artifical fog. Although why doesn't the army know this technique? It seems super useful to have "smoke" bombs. 
• Lu Shi riding out of the fog like a boss 😎
  • how he killed the enemy general :O cool (this drama is also bloodier than I expected, I don't mind, it's just unexpected)
• Hurt and comfort scenes for both our main couple and side couple :3
• Shen getting flustered over the phoenix badge, hehe
• "Home?" "Our home." 🥹🥹
• Lu Shi being called "Flower Lu" hehe
• The nature shots are so beautiful!!
• Li Yong is playing 4D chess 😂 Honestly I love smart antagonistic characters.
• Adopted son origin story?
  • So if the child is son of the king Bei'an and a handmaiden, and the handmaiden is the daughter of uncle Gao (who I thus assume is Lu Yuan's uncle) than the child is Lu Yuan's cousin once removed?
  • or they probably aren't related at all and Li Yong was referring to the fact that he's the son of the late king? That makes more sense i guess

Right now, we’re uncertain about how this series will wrap up. We’re having a buddy watch with some of our club members, and you’re more than welcome to join us! or if you prefer, you can wait until we finish the buddy watch, and we’ll update you on the series finale. I hope the ending is impactful; I’m not ready for something sad since I care so much about the characters. However, given the direction the series is taking and the strength of the characters, I can’t shake the feeling that the conclusion will be quite a ride. In my view, that’s what makes it all the more exciting!

• I was like why is Yingxian sitting in the front seat, shouldn't she be sitting in the back? And then it dawned on me... 🤭
• The way I gasped when she straddled Fu Cheng!
• Tying his hands with her tie?! I legit had to stop the drama, that was so hot! 🔥
• The ripped stocking wowowow
• "Dang, they really wrote her like those toxic MLs, huh. Thank u cdrama gods" - not sure about the author of the web novel but I love how the screenwriter and director is a woman :D
• "That all being said, I do like that for the very moment, they do establish consent in a subtle kinda way." - Yes, yes exactly! I mean I love expressed consent but I very much realize that this is neither the type of drama to do it nor the the dynamic for the characters. But I liked how it switched to Fu Cheng's thoughts and his point of view, showing that he was the one who wrapped his arms around her and went for the kiss. 
• "She looks like a vampire that just feasted on him" - I audibly giggled when he just laid there with his head thrown back :D
• They are going to jump off the car?? Exactly why? Because of the mob? Did I miss something?
  • Haha it just dawned on me that their brakes were broken, for some reason when I saw Fu Cheng stepping on the pedals, I thought they ran out of gas xD
  • "Like where did the car go? Did it kindly stop on its own? No crash?" -  My thoughts exactly! I feel like the whole scene was very confusing... Like unless they were driving from a hill and were about to crash into something, they didn't need to do ALL THAT!

• "Do we look like siblings?" 💀 Thanks, I nearly forgot about that plot point...

• "What a nice girl. Don't let her down." Yingxian's little smirk and Fu Cheng getting all flustered 🤭

• She's using the tiniest cotton swab to treat his wounds while he just poured alcohol directly onto her wound 😭

I also way prefer clear expressed consent (just hits every time, yknow) but in this drama it works in this more subtle kinda way. I really appreciate that they bothered at all. Tends to be something often glossed over :(

Lmaaaoo, opposite experience than me 🤣 FL is one of the few actresses I have on my blacklist. She was one of the main reasons I dropped TLLoQL but I have very little self respect and believe in second chances so I'm still gonna check the drama out xD 

I recognise both SML (who played my fav RR character in TRoTaR) and SFL from a couple of dramas I didn't finish. Both seem to gravitate towards RR-coded dramas so tis definitely looking promising ^^ Dramas linked in the GIFS

What I find marvelous Xiang Liu is cross-dressed in a form of a woman ( He is metamorph, so he can do it ) and Xiao Yao is cross-dressed in man attire. LOLOL very RR :)

That definitely sounds interesting xD It does look more GL than RR to me though. To think we could've gotten Tan Jian Ci in a veil... tsk tsk
