Role Reversal (RR) Drama Lovers Club

After a very length stay in my On-Hold list, I finally finished Mad Doctor xD I usually don't watch medical dramas because I honestly don't like them, but my dislike of the genre aside, it was quite enjoyable (but also a bit aimless but that's not why we're here, is it?). Had I not seen this one in Ree's list, I likely would've never watched it but it was quite fun (Note that romance isn't the main focus but it is present) I'm mentioning it here because of the amazing himbo x trainwreck dynamic between ML and FL. The puppiest cutest ML and the most deadbeat girlboss(loser) surgeon ever with an extra sprinkle of an age-gap. Just look at this absolute pookie

I also started The Tale of Lady Ok not too long ago and I'm really enjoying it. It's giving a bit of a role reversal and the promise of more (within the limitations of a historical kdrama). FL is effortlessly fearless and independent (such a refreshing take for a FL, I'm obsessed) and ML is absolutely whipped and he's the historical equivalent of a kpop idol. He also wears a veil a lot and like... biggest weakness-

Lastly I also finished Ni Shi Wo Wei Yi De Xin Dong which started out very promisingly RR and though it never quite swan-dived into the opposite like most dramas do, it kinda went into a middle ground, leaning mostly to traditional. Not bad for a micro vertical drama overall, it was quite funny and the leads were healthier than most so there's that. Wouldn't recommend watching past the 30min mark for the RR

Bound by Sin - Ep 7

• ML sure is very involved in FL's affairs for a bodyguard- like mind your business, david,
• "Just like an ordinary couple" says the narrator and it shows bro being entirely uninterested
• That romantic music while the mistress is being mistreated is actually diabolical- idk who did the music editing but they needa be fired. Also I really dgaf about the mistress and  fiance, let's move it
• AAAAA they way she turned his disbelief of her choices into flirting xDD And how she slipped her hand into his so effortlessly and just pulled him with her, bringing him to see her collection of his nude photos after teasing him for being so pure... What a legend. What a power move! 
  • "Do you like them?" she asks with a cheeky smile after seeing his look of utter horror
  • "Do you know what I do, looking at these photos when I stay late at the office?" I... feel like we can put 2 and 2 together xD I can't with her nor this drama- how did this get past censorship?!
  • The way she pins him to the table is absolutely 10/10, chef's kiss, So possessive~
  • And then they ruin it with them switching positions... Can't have a dang nice thing without it being frigging ruined...
• Why did I for a second think that the granduncle was gonna walk in on ML and FL doing the do, lol
  • I love how the granduncle walks with a stick and in front of FL acts all weak, but then practically skips down the steps xD Not sure if it was intentional or yet another mistake of production
• ML acts more like an attendant/assistant than a bodyguard. He does not need to be standing right next to her 24/7 (sometimes even lying next to her). Like, a wee bit more attention to detail would've been great here xD Have him stand outside and watch her longingly from a distance... CMON!!!
• That fiance is too much xD the evil smirks, the flaunting possession in front of ML- what is this clownery, lmfaaoo (I do really like his dragonfly brooch tho)
• Great idea to get drunk when with that guy, FL- 0 notes. Also wow, that scene of them drinking seemed to be going on foreverrrr, bruh,
• ML try not to express affection through acts of service challenge (impossible). He really wants to feel useful, huh- it's kinda adorable,

The amount of missed details and inconsistencies were hard for me to ignore this watch but I refrained from mentioning them because we all know the quality of this is lowkey subpar xD Oh well

Bound by Sin - Ep 8

• Bro really needs to stop grabbing his boss by the wrist and pinning her to the wall- this is NOT that kind bodyguard story, sir- go back to the puppy eyes pls and ty
• "You smell nice today" bro likes the smell of wine
• What... the hell? He's actually jealous? What's going on here? T_T Yes, you dumbahh pookie, she got physical with her fiance in the RESTAURANT and you can tell because there's no single hair out of place- Not that it's any of your concern, boytoy- How is she drunk but he the one being irrational
• Did he really just pick her up and put her on his lap after he was about to storm off...? What- What am I watching?? Frankly it should be him on her lap since he acting like a bratty pup- smdh-
• "I'm not your toy" says the boytoy. Ok pookie, keep telling yourself that. Bro acting like he didn't know what he was getting himself into... you're telling me the woman who has a reputation for toying with and enjoying the company of men... wants to enjoy his company and toy with him?!?! HOW DARE SHE!!! WHO COULD'VE POSSIBLY KNOWN!!
• Ok him looking after her is pretty cute but I can't get over the fact that he behaves like an attendant- why not just do that instead?
• HE GIVES HER CAKE WHILE SHE HAS A FEVER?!?! GIRL RUN, POOKIE TRYNNA KILL U. Is this the kinda ish he learned in the military? How not to treat a wound, how to disqualify anyone's complains about injury cuz he knows what a broken bone looks like, and feeding sick people CAKE?! *sigh*
• Her will is INDESTRUCTIBLE- Actually flirting with him while she's sick... also... bro's probably gonna get sick too-
  
• Not him giving her angry kitty glare while doing exactly as she says. Yeah, you're really showing her! Hate hug like you mean it! Also I Just know that dress is hell to sleep in... 
• Oh no... the bodyguard who works for your fiancee is actually... oh no... around your fiancee?!?! THE HORROR!! I know it's probably implying that he's raising his eyebrow at ML leaving in the morning but... don't bodyguards do that sometimes? idk chief, it's giving moron
• Her place is beautiful- that dining room? 10/10
• Well, it's about time! Finally we hear about ML's sister again. Took them long enough. I'm ngl tho, he looks like the younger brother
  

Really getting the urge to ff or watch it faster, ngl. Idk if it's the delay in watching, the overall mid-quality, or something with the story (or maybe a combination of all three) that's making it not really hit for me as you can probably tell with my sarcasm and complaints. Oh well, win some, lose some

Watched these two yesterday but was too tired to edit my notes and finish the gifs so I'm posting today. I'll probably watch two more eps this week so I'm at the midpoint of the drama xD

lol didn't get to watch the show yet, but your notes are hilarious and useful/ informative (lowkey wish notes were public cause they can be funny, but c'est la vie) my notes are typically like funny/random notes to the self, or timestamps and a vague description of where I left off.

As for notes, yes, I agree. Wish there was a way to enable or disable the note view (I think either private, public, or friends-only would be good customization). For now, I found that customs lists come the closest. I have one for all the role reversal titles I watch where I elaborate a bit on them, my thoughts, and tropes present (not as detailed as these, though, mostly because of the character restriction but also because this is for buddy-watches where we share episode-by-episode thoughts and impressions and my regular notes are more of a tldr). 

As for personal notes I tend to keep those in my notion page. I used to maintain these pages a lot more back when I first started drama watching, but now I mostly time-stamp episodes/scenes I really liked or want to GIF and I also use it to keep track of my whumplists and sometimes rants

Yeah, I learned how to make them when I started watching more minidramas. Finding gifs for these dramas is very rare but the visuals are 10/10 XD I decided to just do it myself, haha
