Over the weekend I was free, so me and a friend decided to start bound by sin (as we didn't feel like any of the other dramas we had) :) 

The eps are shorter than I thought (I typically skip intros/outros so they're like 15mins each) I'm only on ep 4, so I'm way behind you all, but it's really good so far! I find it a bit refreshing from most dramas in plot and characters, and also I'm a bit of a sucker for historical/ republican era (1940s-50s) dramas/ settings, so I find the series in itself aestheticヾ(≧ ▽ ≦)ゝ(also it's shot so beautifully, like the director of photography is trying to make every frame a photoshoot lol)

on a side note though, I lowkey spaced/ momentarily forgot his family name was Gou, and when she was all suspecting him of being her halfbrother, (jiang smt or wtv) I literally up and checked the tags so fast lol, i was like ಠ▃ಠ before I realized, haha (still gross she was willing to flirt/ seduce him so far, while suspecting him to be her sibling but ¯\_('—')_/¯)

Anywho, I'm all for morally gray/ scummy mcs, so I look forward to this ride🎉

I'm also a sucker for republican era dramas so that with some RR is quite a pleasant surprise! 

something about the aesthetic of that time, is just so satisfying, especially in china, 'cuase it's a nice blend of their traditional culture (cheongsams, etc) and western/ early nineteenth century fashion (which I also love) and yes the rr  is  nice/ pleasant to boot (especially since I don't see much rr in this historical context, at least I don't remember/ think, but I'm no expert)

Yuuuup, they really went on a almost-incest route but thankfully that wasn't the case at all. I had the same thought when watching, like girl, how are you even taking that chance???

Absolutely agree! It's quite unique in this combo and there's a lot of content set in this time period with this aesthetics combination as compared to any other countries listed here. Such a treat! 

RR isn't uncommon in historical cdramas but for some reason, it's basically impossible to find republican era RR. Maybe it's because of how highly censored this time period is (so I hear). Other than BbS, I've only heard of City of Streamer which I haven't watched yet so I can't say for sure how RR it is (seriously though, why haven't I watched it yet? It's been on my PTW since I can remember o-o) and Zhu Ying Zong Liao Luan but it has no subs. Fellow club members also said Scent of New Dawn was somewhat RR. But even so, that's basically nothing compared to how popular the genre is :( such a shame.

I have watched 18 eps I think it is RR at least in episodes I've watched although FL was not that flirty and there is no intimacy like in the miniseries.

Unfortunately! It's very difficult to even find a passionate or deep romantic series that isn't RR due to censorship, and RR is even more difficult when you consider the conditions of that time. But aside from those series you mentioned, I don't know if it's been written, but Don't Forget Me is also a RR series set in the republic era. It's a fantasy series and gives  Hotel Del Luna vibes.
