Historical Dramas Club

I'm finally at the 5th sister's story of Perfect Match. 

I've enjoyed every ep. except the 4th sister Haode's story. There were too many cases to solve so it felt like the focus was on random stories and not as much on Haode's couple story. (just my opinion but I'm biased toward romance not mystery).

But now that it's Leshan's story it's the wild and crazy ride I was hoping for! I bet this large cast must have had a lot of fun filming this drama together. 

I can't believe ML Wang Xing Yue is only 23 irl! He has an impressive drama list and is the youngest of the male leads.

Also, Winwin from NCT is one of the MLs and does a super job in his role!

I first saw him in Amidst a Snowstorm of Love then he was all over. He is impressive. I want to watch everything he's in as ML.

Yes! I have a few of his dramas on my PTW. I have seen him in three other series. One and Only was my first drama of his and it was really good! As was Snowstorm and The Double.

If you like revenge drama, The Double is very satisfying.

And if you want to watch a drama in which the emperor is slighly less stupid but more paranoid than the no-show emperor in that short drama but still following the character pattern, try Nirvana in Fire. It's more about choosing the right ruler though, with little to no romance.

I've always wanted to watch NiF and I have heard good things about it but I could never get into it. I did try before. Maybe I will try again one day. Haha~

I checked and there were 15 historical dramas airing in 2025 with 2 coming otw and 1 (Legend of the Female General with Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei 🎉) rumored to air this month so maybe 18 Chinese historical dramas until 31 March. Short-length drama not included. As for Korean and Japanese or Thai historical drama, I'm not sure maybe 3 for Korean historical drama? There were so many Japanese dramas so won't count. Thai maybe just 1 which I ptw but I'm not sure.

It's a TMI but in 2025, I've completed Moonlight Mystique, Flourished Peony (a must-watch), and Perfect Match. Dropped Si Jin. Put Kill My Sins on-hold (ah I forgot it). And I ptw Ashura no Gotoku, Berabo: Tsuta Ju Eika Osamu Yume Hanashi (ongoing), Good Heavens! I'm a Goose not A Swan (ongoing), Love of Petals, and When Life Gives You Tangerines (ongoing).

Asura/Ashura no Gotoku is a netflix show. As for the other two hmm... they're available in several illegal sites I think like onetouch tv, kisskh, dramacool, myasiantv, kissasian, and many others. I'm not sure whether they're legal or illegal actually, maybe onetouch tv is legal? But Berabo is not listed there.

There's two Chinese drama titles with the same name but since you posted here it wasn't hard to know which one, lol. I do see a tag for "Slapstick". Is there very much of that? If not I would watch it. 😊
