Just finished watching today's first episode of "Gelboys" - because gosh, 13 currently airing BLs just weren't enough, so this makes 14. Anyways, I didn't think I would like it because the themes aren't my thing and the leads don't tickle my love button - but actually, it's strangely fascinating and also interestingly authentic in terms of how it portrays modern teen behaviour and modern crowded urban Bangkok street life.
Also, it's definitely original in terms of both story and style. I think I used those exact same words in describing "FC Soldout" - not that the two series have anything whatever in common. But in any case, it's nice that we're getting some different content than the usual GMMTV-Mandee-Wabisabi fare. Not that I don't love that stuff, but hey, variety is the spice of life, right?
On the minus side, "Gelboys" is making me feel really oooold. I think I'm not the intended target audience.
Next up: Today's episode 3 of "Flirt Milk", which will surely continue to be a train wreck, yet a strangely fascinating train wreck (as train wrecks can be). Or maybe it's my fondness for cute nerdy boys in glasses.
