 p43425:
Good question.

I found my answer for this one. The page says "This movie contains previously unaired scenes from the drama and movie versions of “Where Your Eyes Linger.”" which means I'll be watching this. Curious to see if my rating improves or not. It's been a while since I watched it after all and my tastes changed.

 p43425:
this is one I'd gladly re-watch

I'd save it for subsequent rewatches, one day I'll save my faves so I can rewatch them anytime, without the need of even an Internet connection.

So, generally I'd watch the director's cut of any series. I guess it's different from even the uncut ver, so it's good practice to watch it again. Especially if a long time has passed since I watched the original.

 p43425:
But yeah, in practice it's hard to generalise.

Come to think of it, I have yet to see a series on MDL that has both an uncut and a director's cut. Am I wrong to assume they're kinda the same thing and one won't be available for a series when the other is?

By far the best uncut title is "4Minutes (Sultrier Version)" haha. They could have just said "uncut" but nah

 p43425:
but in many cases I suspect that the "director's cut" is a gimmick to boost DVD sales (back from the pre-streaming days of theatrical releases followed by DVD release).

Ah, it might be so. Even if it's a gimmick, they do release it with more scenes which is basically saying "watch this instead of cut". Do you know of a series that has both uncut and director's cut or are they the same thing?

Unrelated but I've just now been on someone's profile, found 10 minutes ago, who has a huge ass text wall as about me and also 653 entries in their dropped list. I am shocked to say the least. They also said that they didn't add a pfp so as to not annoy people. Unhinged behavior, I'm not reading all that! (But I'm curious nonetheless).

BL NEWS: First (from Don’t Say No) has a new partner now. He’ll be acting in a new BL drama with his new costar Ohm Sarit!

How does one join the Thai drama club on here? I added a badge on my profile for the club but I can't find the club's page. They have only an actual MDL profile. I sent them a DM just in case.

Ohhh *gulp* ... they look great together! I love First. <3

Like is Thai, Jun’s, actual brother/cousin/neighbor?

(re "My Stubborn") Good question, but my interpretation so far is that Jun was already good friends with Tai's younger brother Wynn, which might also be how Jun got the internship (?). If Jun were the actual brother of Tai and Wynn, and thus a third son of the company owner, he would be treated very differently.

 axdxex:
If you find new understanding after rewatching the ep, please enlighten me!

I rewatched it, and although I'm not sure if I have any brilliant new insights, here are a few points that may help.

First of all, I tried to do quick-and-dirty translations of the otherwise untranslated screen text boxes as each of the many characters first appeared (here in the order that the screen texts appears):

Jun, 21yo, student intern: Cheerful, easy-going, easy to get along with except for one person (i.e. Sorn).
Tai, 26yo, eldest son of RT Design owner: Handsome, warm, caring, skilled.
Wynn, 21yo, youngest son of RT Design owner: Gen Z teenager - cheerful, lively, loves his friends.
Phe, 21yo, student intern: Hilarious, loves his girlfriend wherever he goes. (Does this refer to Aey?)
Aey, 21yo female, student intern: Cheerful, gentle, likes sports.
Phut, 24yo, RT Design employee : Playful, kind.
Penny, 24yo female, RT Design employee – human resources: Beautiful, sassy, iconic for the company.
June, 26yo female, RT Design employee – senior management: Sharp, strict, respected by people in the office.
Champ, 26yo, RT Design employee: Kind, gentle, loving, observant.
Sorn, 26yo, RT Design employee: Strong, fierce, straightforward person.
Korn, 23yo, RT Design employee: Office gossip, “unfiltered news unit”. (Walks into the bathroom on Sorn and Jun.)
Praew, 23yo female, RT Design employee: Office gossip, but more intelligent than Korn.

Then there are a few more characters without screen text boxes:

James”: mentioned as head of import-export dept. and Jun’s “mentor” – or is this referring to Sorn, who in a subsequent scene seems to be acting rather like Jun's mentor?
Piangrak: blond guy, Jun’s boyfriend (at least for now). Will presumably be written out quickly to make room for Sorn, haha!
Pop (presumably not a significant character): Guy who comes into the bar, sits with Jun and Wynn, and hits on Jun, who then snogs him to make Sorn jealous, until Pop’s nasty, violent boyfriend walks in on them (= suspenseful end of episode 1).

So that's already 16 characters, and from the MDL cast listing it seems like we have a bunch more characters to come. Aaaaargh! In typical Thai BL fashion, they overwhelm us with tons of characters which may or may not be superfluous (not to mention the two little kids in the coffee shop). After watching a second time, I now have these sorted in my mind, which helps enormously.

A few more points:
(1) Presumably by copycat design, Sorn gives me strong Payu / Boss Chaikamon vibes, and not only because of the hair style.
(2) Based on the scene in which Sorn is snogging/screwing Penny as well as the later snogging scene with the random girl in the bar, I’m assuming that Sorn is a promiscuous playful bisexual  ... until Jun ultimately wins his heart.
(3) People are deferential to Tai because he’s the owner’s son. Wynn (who arrives in the car with Tai) is his younger brother. As I wrote above, Jun seems to already be good friends with Wynn.
(4) Tai obviously likes Champ. They’ll presumably become a sweet side couple.
(5) With Piang now his boyfriend, Jun seems to have accepted himself as gay since the steamy opening scene with Sorn two years before.
(6) Regarding the scene in the company restroom, I’m not so into happy trails, so RXinw can have Sorn and I’ll take Jun. I think that’s fair.

So as to the remaining questions now in my head:
(1) I think I can guess how episode 2 will begin: Sorn will save Jun from Pop's nasty, violent boyfriend. Obviously!
(2) Who is the guy that Phut is snogging in the company stairwell?  The MDL casting refers to Phut's girlfriend Vee and his "secret boyfriend" Yo - but we haven't been introduced to Yo yet, so was this yet another guy? Is Phut yet another promiscuous playful bisexual? In any case, it looks like this messy series is going to have some messy love geometries.
(3) The MDL blurb talks about Jun pranking Sorn (as the serious one), and yet in episode 1 we see Sorn pranking Jun. Is this role reversal, or just an atrociously written blurb?

Anyways, I like the series so far, not least because of the abundance of cuties. If it turns out to be a trainwreck (which seems likely), it'll probably be one of the strangely fascinating kind. I'm in!

I recently rewatched WYEL and I can say it was just as good the second time. I would have no problem rating all versions of this drama the same,  at the very least, lol!

Sweet! And so dang cute!!

 Indie Art Girl:

I got bored of this drama so I rated it quite low, which means that maybe I shouldn't watch the director's cut but I'm in the mood to watch it anyway. It's technically not a rewatch so I don't need to add it to my Rewatched list and it's been a while. Maybe my scoring changed for this one. Either that or I'm going to get bored out of my mind tonight.

that was so helpful! thanks for putting that together, i think i'm starting to wrap my head around what's going on lol

tbh i kind of don't like dramas with huge casts like this (i'm here to relax, i don't wanna use my brain so much!) but the messy antics and promise of more happy trail appearances will probably have me sticking with this one :) like you said, even if it's a trainwreck it seems like it'll be a fun one

My pleasure. Putting it into words was actually a really good exercise for me.
