BL Challenge Day 3: Name a short film that you watched this year that stuck with you

I'm a bit stuck on this one. To me, "short" means total runtime of an hour or less, and "film" excludes mini- or micro-series (including reels) as well as follow-on special episodes. I've seen some good indie or student short films in past years, but looking back on what I've watched so far this year, and strictly defining "short film", I come up with nothing that I can even remember, let alone "stuck with me".

But although I can't name a short film, I'll mention three mini-series or reels (all on Youtube):

For my fellow fans of Chokun/Aston and Luke/Mick, "Hearts in Play" is six micro-episodes of delightful fluff. It's vertical-format reels but GMMTV, so the production quality is higher than most reels.

"The 8.2 Second Rule" is a JBL full-format short series from 2022 (50-minute total runtime), but I only watched it this April, so that could count. It's cute 'n fluffy with a cooking theme, and five vignettes rather than a coherent story, which could be a reason for the low average MDL rating (6.8). I really enjoyed it as a nice quick watch. In my opinion, very underrated.

Finally, I'll mention "21 Days Sunshine", which I watched when it came out on Youtube yesterday. The story is cliché  (and with all the usual annoyances of reels) but nevertheless pretty cute and sweet. I definitely don't regret the half hour I spent watching it.

Revenged Love - episodes 19 & 20

Episode 19 was rough emotionally, not because of the relationship conflict between Chi Cheng and Suo Wei, but because of Wei's mother's illness and eventual death. When she said, "I want to go home...Take me home." I had to pause the episode. Tears started to prick my eyes slightly. I almost had one slip free. The way she passed away sitting in the yard and Suo Wei discovering her already dead was just heart breaking and peaceful at the same time.

I am glad she knew about Chi Cheng and Suo Wei's relationship before she died.

Regarding the relationship conflicts I did not feel it emotionally because I think the whole thing could have been avoided with a little maturity and a dash of common sense. I was more irritated. However, I must admit that every time the OST came on throughout both episodes my heart shifted a bit.

I have other comments, but they can wait until the finale - as usual with me lol

It's not Day 3 for me yet but I've been wondering for a while what is considered a short film. A quick movie? A drama series with less than 6 short length episodes? A special?  🤷🏻‍♀️

Any work less than an hour and is not a series or connected to a series (a special).

For me, this is Half, a 13-minute short film with Earth and Mix. It's lovely.

I gave it ten stars - but in October 2023, so I don't really remember it and can't count it for the challenge.
