Shine—ep 3
wow this show continues to amaze me, but it sure is an emotional ride. A beautiful one, but intense. For me television is mostly something I use to escape intense emotions so I don’t watch many shows that take me through real emotions and provocative thinking. But I knew this is what I was getting here. It’s definitely worth it but I need fluff when I’m done watching.
i have a lot to say after every episode so far. I’m especially moved by the way the different characters are dealing with homosexual feelings in different ways, while all facing a world that they know won’t accept them. I’m always worried about characters getting outed and it causing problems in any show that portrays the real difficulties of gay relationships in a harsh world. I have no reason to expect this in shine, it’s just always my fear, es for characters in period dramas.
btw, the discussion on the MDL page is a bit out of control. I know a lot of show pages are like that but I fell down the rabbit hole and ended up in an argument over GMMTV vs BOC. Why does it have to be either/or? I don’t understand when people get so angry about these things.
thank goodness for this group. I am happy to have a place to read and voice opinions without unnecessary arguments. Besides, I just want to like all the BLs! Of course that’s not possible, but I can like Shine and My Magic Prophecy and Doctor’s Mine. I can also think Apo is a great actor but still find Phuwin more attractive.
i cant tell you where this show is going and I can’t even say it’s fun but I think it’s going to be worth the effort to watch for sure.
note: BOC continues to deliver the best (and extremely graphic, but realistic) NC scenes
now I’m going to watch Dogbro. Lol.
