Secret Lover - episode 8 & 9

These two episodes properly fleshed out the emotional foundation of Tuo and Junxi's relationship. We see how Tuo's fear of abandonment came into play; compounded by the fact he has been the driving force of their relationship. He felt that he was forcing feelings on Junxi, which is what many fans thought as well. I think the break from each other was needed to give Junxi a breather, so that he could determine how he felt on his own. I think it was also needed in order for Tuo to get some reassurance that his love is not one-sided. Therefore their relationship can now stand on a solid foundation free from doubts; there is now clarity of feelings and priorities. 

I think whether Junxi's brother had confronted them or not, at some point Junxi would have to face the reality of coming out if he wants to sustain a healthy romantic relationship with Tuo. It can be viewed that in this sense Junxi's brother's inquisitive actions did them a favour by having them overcome this hurdle from early. That being said, I do think that it was not the brother's place to intrude in Junxi's life the way he did, especially since he has been absent for some time. His persistence for answers was disrespectful to Junxi's privacy even if it came from a genuine place of care. Please keep in mind that I am an only child, so I have no sibling experience, and therefore I am unaware if this is normal sibling behaviour despite a sibling being absent.

In regards to Tuo's boss, he is being very unprofessional and inappropriate. If he wants to mentor Tuo outside of work related matters, then I think there is a more appropriate way to give advice to a junior that does not come off as sexual, intrusive, and harassing.

Regarding the preview of episode 10, I think Junxi's parents will accept them, and they may already know. I think Tuo's father will be the true parental obstacle.

Normally, I would save all of these comments for my finale review, but I am in a talking mood tonight lol

From your username, I'm guessing that you're especially keen on Ohmkrit, who I also adore.

I see that you watched "DMD Friendship the Reality" (Gen 3) but not last fall's "DMD Friendship the Reality: It Takes Two", in which Domundi paired up the Gen 4's, including not only Jimmy & Ohmkrit but also Net & JJ, Auau & Save, Por & Teetee, and Latte & Kim. (Patji and Ryujin were also in it but haven't been paired yet.)  From your rating of the first "Friendship the Reality", it looks like you didn't love the reality series/format as much as me, but "It Takes Two" offers a lot of Ohmkrit, including a really good skit between him and Jimmy (who is indeed a remarkable acting talent).

Also, I don't see "Night Dream" on your watch list, which was Ohmkrit's first major role, although pre-Jimmy. Although it's flawed, especially in the story/writing and editing (not to mention weak subtitles), Ohmkrit is really good (and super cute) - plus this series also includes a small part for Namping in his first acting role, who I love love love!  I liked the series, despite the flaws, and it has the added virtue of being short.

I suspect that Domundi is cleverly pacing the promotion of their new ships this year - first Thomas & Kong hit it big with the launch of "Your Sky", now Keng & Namping are rising rapidly with the success of "Khemjira" - and that JimmyOhmkrit will be heavily promoted later this year when "Magic Lover" comes out.

Jimmy & Ohmkrit (and likewise Net & JJ) had only limited exposure in "Next Prince", and I'm guessing that this was deliberate to keen fans hungry for more. I assume that "Love Upon A Time" will be the next to air after "Khemjira" is finished and will push Net & JJ into the limelight ... and hopefully "Magic Lover" the next after that, at which time I presume Jimmy & Ohmkrit will be heavily promoted (the other two CPs, Thomas/Kong and Keng/Namping, already having made their breakthroughs this year).

I continue to be impressed at how well Domundi is managing their new talent, and also at how Mandee has upped the quality of its productions. I just wish they would make better use of Tutor & Yim.
