Really Recommend Resident Playbook :)
I haven't seen that one, but I do recommend a drama that takes place in its same universe, but has established medical professionals who've been friends since their med school days: Hospital Playlist.
Hospital Playlist is the medical Kdrama I've seen that reminds me the most of ER: episodic, a heart-tugging medical case or two in every episode, doctors growing and learning from their patients and each other.
Other medical Kdramas I've enjoyed that aren't as similar to ER, because they have major drama happening outside the medical environment:
Doctor Stranger: a fair amount of medical procedures here, but don't watch it if you prefer dramas that make sense. Doctor Stranger gets pretty far out there several times. Surgery competitions: I do not lie! There are intense side plots and some nefarious spy action in addition to the medical stuff. This would be a good drama to see with an inebriated group. I'm straight edge and watched it alone, so I had to content myself with laughing out loud and swearing at my tablet. I think of this as Lee Jong Suk's one misstep when it comes to choosing projects. Nevertheless, his character and performance are super entertaining. No spoilers here: "Doctor Stranger | Best of Park Hoon https://youtu.be/8B6G-izE1Jc?si=xMiYLMzcwT-66OUO
Doctors: also a fair amount of medical stuff. The drama introduces the FL when she's a rebellious teen. She becomes a top notch surgeon. There's a revenge thread here - the FL seeks accountability for past malpractice. There's a love line that gets a fair amount of screen time. Her hobby is mixed martial arts, which gets a bit of screen time.
Doctor John: Another amazing performance by Ji Sung, who plays the ML, Cha Yo Han. Interesting plot with a few twists I didn't see coming. There's plenty of interesting, specific field medical stuff happening.
If you finish Resident Playbook and Hospital Playlist and want more medical and are willing to compromise on similarity to ER, I'd recommend Doctor John and then Doctors, with Doctor Stranger a distant third.
