Quantcast
 p43425:

Art Girl has already seen it, but for the benefit of Dora and anyone else:
This is effectively a movie in two parts, with this being part 2, so you need to watch "Monday - Thurday" first. The total runtime (for both parts) is a bit over two hours, so it moves along quickly.

I liked it but didn't love it. It's a fundamentally good story (originality, emotions, progression, love story), although with a lot of Japanese-style miscommunication and misunderstanding. It feels a bit dated (also because of the mediocre video quality) and very Japanese, but it's nice as a love story (very PG).

Yep I saw both some time ago. I liked both quite a bit, but yeah it's dated and the quality isn't great.

 Italophilia:

Both Seven Days: Monday - Thursday and Seven Days: Friday - Sunday have been on my PTW for years. I finally watched the first tonight and loved it. Such a sweet story.

Glad you had a good watch!  😊

Same same!

"Mystique in the Mirror" - Any drama that is considered a psychological romance has my complete attention.
@Art Girl, here's yet another title for our massive October release list - supposedly starting October 22.

October is wilding!

I was aware of this drama but I didn't include it on my list cuz of the story/content. Maybe if I hear lots of good things about it I could consider it for later...

I don't remember if we mentioned Swing Kick in our convos, also supposedly an Oct release, but not on my personal list either. It's boxing, ugh.

 p43425:
I haven't yet started on "Wicked Game"

Offroad is giving Phuwin vibs from "Never Let Me Go"  XD

 p43425:
Khemjira" (my fave currently airing series

Agreed!

 p43425:
"Lover Merman"

You hit the nail on the head; mediocre was indeed the term I was looking for. Another problem I'm facing involves the fins. They appear somewhat clunky in the water, as if their movements lack fluidity. It was distracting me because these are supposed to be legendary creatures that flourish underwater, yet they seem to be having a hard time existing in their natural environment.

 p43425:
no match for the incomparable Fort Thitopong

Believe me, my heart is with Fort as well, but I feel the drama was hindered by poor writing. Despite my affection for him, I couldn't fully support the character. Additionally, I believe there was an excessive amount of sexual content that detracted from any emotional connection. It felt like I was viewing a more explicit version of love in the air, if that makes sense. So, a part of me found myself tuning out. Still I can watch Fort all day, every day. lol

Thanks for the info

My expectations for this one aren't high. I'm also not keen on boxing, but (as with many less favoured themes or potential triggers) I'm fine with any series that's really good (example with boxing: "Knock Out").

Did you see an October release from reliable source? I can't find anything, and I generally interprete "pilot trailer" (which was just last month) as "we are hunting for sponsors".

I'm instantly sold!

The Japanese remake is, of course, the same story, but I would say it's a bit more streamlined starting from the part where the Thai original started to drag and at times to annoy me. Or maybe I'm just less annoyed now because I know what to expect. I'll be interested to hear what you have to say.

 Simi_Tutu:

The Japanese remake is also quite sexualised. You will see ... (haha!)

Oh, I know it  but I think Peat  and Fort add a whole other level too much sex appeal ! LOL also, once again, your wording is right on point I mean streamlined .

RE: Swing kick

Oh not sure how reliable. It was mentioned for Oct. in a lineup on YT. That's why I used the word supposedly. Stalked their sm accounts for info. I got an eyeful of a smokin' hot cast but no release date.

Another possible Oct release is Loser Dream that was originally scheduled for Sept. 29. It might be a vertical.

Ohhhh! I love Top Piyawat, so I'll definitely watch this one.

Khemjira’s OST finally dropped! Such a beautiful song, I love it!

I‘m really enjoying Love in the Moonlight! It’s very dramatic but not too realistic as to be upsetting. I still get worried about plots involving scandal when people might be outed, but this seems as much about parental disapproval as scandal. I don’t like either because I feel sad for the characters but Peak is doing such a good job playing the angst. Pearl is so charming too! I’m loving them. I just hope the FL isn’t too hurt by what happens. I want her to become a gay ally rather than heartbroken. The dads are both so selfish and manipulative I really hate them. I hope they get what’s coming to them.  of course they always have to end on a cliffhanger because it’s a lakhorn. I’m tired of almost kisses! I want a real one! I can’t wait for next week’s episode!

Season 2 of At 25:00 in Akasaka drops today! Wish i could post a picture. But I can’t even get post images to save my photos without an error right now. So someone else will have to do it. so excited to see all these characters and actors again!

update: first episode is very sweet, but MDL won’t let me add it to CWL because it says it doesn’t drop until tomorrow.

the problem with making season 2 of anything is they have to create a new conflict, usually involving the couple breaking up. But I don’t want them to break up! (This is just speculation from previews, I don’t actually know what will happen. I haven’t read the manga.)

 dora:
But it’s old, so who knows what kind of budget they could even get.

Great review! I really admire these productions that paved the way for the BL boom. They probably didn’t have much of a budget, but their courage and passion are truly inspiring.

 Indie Art Girl:
I'm only halfway through Memoir of Rati and I've already added it to my Top BL Picks list.

I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! This series is truly something special. The entire cast gives such powerful performances. It really stuck with me in the best way.
