School Trip ep5
I am still loving this! Their facial expressions say so much! But every week i think I can’t wait a whole week for the next episode!
I am watching too many shows right now and have Too much to say about all of them. Me and Thee and the Japanese shows (punks triangle, therapy game, school trip, Akasaka s2) are the stand outs, although I am really enjoying the love never sets and the cursed love as well. Head 2 Head and Me and Who are cute and To My Shore looks promising.
i hope Tide of Love won’t present too warped a view of BDSM. so far, I’m unsure about what’s coming.
The Journey to Killing You
this is a short show with only 6 30-minute episodes so it can be watched in one sitting. i really loved it. I gave it an 8.5 but think I should change it to a 9 because I can’t stop thinking about it. Keep in mind there are some very disturbing things (that really need trigger warnings) in this story, and the characters are all morally gray. That said, it is really moving. The subtle emotional changes the characters go through as the story progresses are portrayed masterfully by these actors. this is a story about how interest can turn to attraction can turn to love, and that love can provide hope in a life that seems bleak and meaningless.
i could write a longer review but frankly many people have already posted excellent reviews on the MDL page, and I pretty much agree with everyone who gave it a high rating. this is not a happy story but it is a hopeful one, and it has a satisfying ending.
if you want to watch but have any specific questions about trigger warnings or violence I’d be happy to go into more detail. I don’t think MDL does an adequate job of this, but some people hate spoilers more than triggers. Personally, someone warned me about one thing that I was glad to know about ahead of time, but I don’t mind spoilers about certain things. That said, I also can tolerate a lot of behaviors on screen that would appall me in real life. I believe that stories are for exploring our feelings about the range of life experiences as well as fears and fantasies. To me that is ok as long as one can differentiate what’s acceptable in real life vs. drama life. But we all need to know ourselves and what we are comfortable with watching.
